Will you ever forgive us
Dear Palestine?
Your youth, beautiful children destroyed
Before our very eyes
Bombs thrown from a coward’s glance
Unfurling agony and annihilation
Being interrogated in the absence of law
Wasted for no reason
Utter madness and cruelty
Animals mete better treatment than this!
Where are the helpers?
Where are the workers of heaven?
Families torn apart
Dying in hopelessness
No dignified burial too
But body thrown upon body
The west prides itself on civilization
But nothing more than utter degradation
The guilt we feel in our uselessness
Is overpowering, mind blowing.
I’m so sorry we couldn’t help you
The way you deserved to be helped
I’m so sorry the world ignored your cries
Scared of the oppressor
If only we feared Him in the heavens
The Palestinians would have lived like we
They would have lived and loved
And thanked Allah for His bounties
But He has prepared something amazing for them
And we will never attain it
The more you suffer in this caged world
The loftier your status
May He forgive us for our weakness, inability
And strengthen us from within
And enact the justice which we were powerless to do.
