Sir, The world is concerned and takes action when there is famine and people are dying due to a lack of food, water, and medicine. These are mainly due to natural disasters.
However, according to what you are reporting and in a well-argued editorial, this is the first time that human beings are starving to death due to man-made famine. (‘World looks on as Palestinians starve to death in man-made famine’, The Muslim News, April 5.) This is happening in Gaza, where Palestinians are dying due to the Israeli policy of cutting off the water supply and preventing fuel, food, and medicine in the policy of collective punishment.
It looks like Israel is committing war crimes with its mass starvation policy as a weapon of war.
And still, our government, along with the US and other European countries, is refusing to take any action against Israel and refusing to support an immediate ceasefire.
