Sir, I agree with you when you argue in your editorial (March 20) that the UK government did not change the phrase antisemitism to “anti-Jewish hostility” when they retained the IHRA definition. Then why was Islamophobia, which has been widely used in the UK and internationally for decades, changed by the Labour government to “anti-Muslim hostility”? This just shows how Islamophobic the government is. The Muslim community’s views do not matter. Muslim politicians have failed us. At least the Muslim Council of Britain did not support the change, reflecting the community’s views.
