Fatimah Mashrif
The AGM Randeree Scholarship has been launched for bright young Muslims who can demonstrate their commitment to positively addressing the needs of the Muslim community in wider British society.
The DCD Family Trust and St Edmund’s College, Cambridge, are offering a scholarship
which will cover the costs of tuition and accommodation for a year to enable successful applicants to enhance their intellectual capacities by studying for a Master’s graduate degree at the University of Cambridge.
Not only will study at this leading institution stretch the individual’s intellectual reach, but their leadership capacity will be nurtured through personal mentoring and a placement with a community related or research organisation to enable them to test and develop their skills and insights on the ground. The scholar will become an alumnus of St Edmund’s College and the University, with their powerful networks of friendships and contacts. These elements combined will ensure an excellent grounding for the leadership and bridge building work expected to follow after the scholarship experience – work that will help integrate British Muslim communities, enhance faith literacy in public life and contribute to the creation of a more cohesive British society.
T
he Scholarship will support a wide range of courses including: history, philosophy, education, South Asian, Asian, and Middle Eastern studies, public health, international relations and politics, and development studies.
The deadline for the October 2016 intake is 27 November 2015. For more information about the Scholarship, please visit click here
