Gaza: 42 Palestinians killed, 63 injured by Israeli bombings last 24hrs

At least 42 Palestinians were killed and 63 others injured in Israeli indiscriminate bombings in Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, according to Ministry of Health. This brings total Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since 7 October to 34,012, including 14,520 children and 10,000 women and 76,833 others injured, including 12,000 children in Gaza, according to Ministry of Health.

Out of the women killed, 6.000 are mothers, whose deaths have left 19,000 orphans according to UN Women.

“Women who have survived Israeli bombardment and ground operations have been displaced, widowed, and facing starvation,” said the UN agency. “This devastating differentiated impact continues to make the war on Gaza also a war on women.”

In addition further 12,000 Palestinians are reported missing, presumed dead under the rubble.

At least nine Palestinians were killed and several others injured in Israeli airstrikes in the besieged Gaza Strip late Thursday, according to local media.

Another airstrike targeted a house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood north of Gaza City, killing three Palestinians while 15 others remained under the rubble, Wafa said.

Two more Palestinians were killed in another attack on a house in the New Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, the broadcaster said.

At least four civilians were killed and others were injured this evening in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in the Al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City.

WAFA correspondent reported that at least four Palestinians were killed and others were injured in the bombing by Israeli warplanes of a house sheltering displaced people, including members of the Abu Jiyab family, in the Al-Shati camp.

Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes bombed a house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood north of Gaza City, resulting in injuries among civilians who were transported to the Arab Al-Ahli Hospital in the city.

In the central Gaza Strip, ambulance and rescue crews managed to retrieve the bodies of two civilians after the Israeli warplanes targeted a house belonging to the Qishlan family in the New Camp area in Nusseirat refugee camp. The two were transported to Al-Awda Hospital in the camp.

At least six people were killed and many others injured Thursday evening in Israeli airstrikes on refugee camps housing displaced Palestinians in Gaza City.

Meanwhile, the US vetoed a UN Security Council resolution on Thursday demanding Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations.

The membership was blocked with a vote of 12 in favor and two abstentions, including the UK and Switzerland.

Palestine was accepted as an observer state of the UN General Assembly in 2012, allowing its envoy to participate in debates and UN organizations, but without a vote.

States are admitted to membership in the UN by a decision of the General Assembly upon the recommendation of the Security Council, according to the UN Charter.

A council resolution needs at least nine votes in favor and no vetoes by the permanent members — the US, Britain, France, Russia, or China — to pass.

According to Israeli government 1,139 Israelis were killed by Hamas on 7 October in southern Israel and 134 Israelis and foreign nationals are still detained by Hamas in Gaza.
