Gaza: 390 Palestinians killed by Israeli indiscriminate bombing last 48 hrs

By Abdul Adil

Palestine, (Agencies): The Ministry of Health in Gaza says 390 Palestinians have been killed and another 734 people have been injured in the past 48 hours while communications were suspended.

At least 16 people from the al-Bursh family have been killed after Israeli forces targeted their home on Old Gaza Street in Jabalia town, the Palestinian Shehab News Agency has reported. Another 50 people were wounded in the attack.

Earlier, Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reported that Ministry of Health Director-General Munir al-Bursh was critically injured following the Israeli air strike on his sister’s house, where he was sheltering. His daughter was among those killed.

Meanwhile, another nine Palestinians have been killed after Israeli forces bombed a house in the Abu Iskandar area in the Sheikh Radwan district of Gaza City, Quds News Network has reported.

Wafa news agency reported eight civilians were killed in an Israeli air attack on Rafah.

Israeli air raids have killed another six civilians in Khan Younis, according to local sources.

Meanwhile, rescue and ambulance crews retrieved nine bodies in Jabalia town, including a mother and her five daughters following Israeli bombing.

Within the past 24 hours, about 30 people have been killed in Jabalia town and Jabalia refugee camp, with dozens more wounded, Wafa reported.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said it received dozens of calls reporting numerous dead and injuries due to the bombing of a house in the Al-Nazla region of Jabalia, but no ambulance or rescue team could reach the victims.

Israeli snipers killed a woman late Thursday who was working in the Al-Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, which has been under siege by the army in recent days, according to the government in the enclave.

Those in the hospital have been unable to access “water, food, and medicine” and were subjected to detention and torture, the Health Ministry in Gaza said in a statement.

The Israeli army has turned the Al-Awda Hospital into a “military barracks,” the ministry said Tuesday.

Spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said the Israeli army is holding 240 Palestinians, including 80 medical staff, 40 patients and 120 displaced people inside the hospital.

He also said the Palestinians inside the hospital are without water, food and medicine, and the Israeli army prevents movement between hospital units.

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) tweeted on Thursday for the “carnage” in Gaza to stop

“I have lost count of the number of times when I thought the crisis in Gaza could not get more horrific. But it has happened again,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on X.

“The horrors are endless for those trapped in what has become a Hell on earth,” WHO chief said, adding that on average around 300 people are being killed daily in the besieged enclave.

He also pointed out the dire situation of healthcare system in the strip where only nine of Gaza’s 36 hospitals are partially functioning, with none functioning in the north.

“The carnage must stop. We need a #CeasefireNOW,” Tedros said.

These are just some of the figures of the Palestinians killed by Israeli attacks in Gaza.

Total number of Palestinians killed since October 7 from Israeli attacks has increased to 20,057, including 8,663 children, 6327 women; 53,320 others injured.
