Sir, Your celebration of the record Muslim MPs (Issue 313) is to be appreciated, but is it not more surprising there are more Muslim women MPs than men MPs. It is even more statistically than the male: female population in Britain. That must be a record which is remarkable.

British voters, leaders and gurus keep urging women to get involved and it is only Muslims who have achieved it. I have not seen this fact highlighted in any press or publication.

Though I do not want to be pessimistic but it does come to mind that whether Muslim women MPs will be able to look after the affairs of Muslims or they will be in the name only; the record we have seen in the past from Muslim men MPs during Blair days and Iraq conflict, of men’s voting is dismal.
