KARACHI, (AA): At least 15 people were killed and over 30 injured Wednesday after a bomb exploded on a bus in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar, officials said.
Police said the explosive device was planted at the back of a bus carrying around 50 government employees. The timed devise was placed next to a tool box. Bomb Disposal Unit personnel claimed that high-grade explosives weighing eight kilograms was used in the attack.
The driver, who was badly injured, was able to continue driving to a police station. The explosion occured near Peshawar’s Sunehri Masjid.
Several of the injured remain in critical condition, medical officials said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
Similar attacks in 2012 and 2013 killed 38 people.
