Two months have passed since your return to Allah swt
But the deep pain of our loss is still as fresh
The memories flood in on me
As I struggle to hold tears back.
Your demise has been my greatest test
My world has been turned on its head
You were the comfort and joy of my eyes
My rock when things went wrong
You always encouraged me
Saw the good in me
And never gave up on me.
In all the trials and upsets of life
Your words were ‘Allah ke upar nazr rakho (urdu – Keep your gaze upon Allah swt)
Kahin aur nahi daykho’. (Don’t look anywhere else)
I desperately try to apply this now
Hearing your words in the background
But I feel very weak, dear Abu, without you.
Just like Fatima (ra) did when our beloved Rasool saw breathed his last.
Know I will always be grateful for your presence,
Which transformed my being,
And all the others who gave baiya to you
How fortunate we were to know you!
You may have left us
But only for a little while
As I know we will all be reunited together
In Allah’s company, inshaa Allah.
My dua for you now
May Allah swt bless you in abundance and raise you to the highest of the highest ranks
May we continue the good you have started
So it may reach you and elevate your status.
And may your fez continue for us, stronger than before.
