The Al Khair Foundation, a leading Muslim charity, launched its 2022 Winter Appeal earlier this month, an urgent campaign to assist vulnerable families in dealing with the cost-of-living crisis and freezing temperatures.

Al Khair is raising funds to support its effort to deliver food parcels, clothes, and essential items across the country.

According to research by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, over 3 million low-income households in the UK cannot afford to heat their homes. Roughly 710,000 households had difficulty paying for food, heating, and warm clothing.

“It is an extremely scary time for many people, and rising food and fuel costs are having a devastating impact,” said Imam Qasim, Al-Khair Foundation’s Founder and Chairman. “People are struggling to keep their homes warm as well as put meals on the table. No one should have to go hungry or cold this winter, and we will do our best to ensure that people aren’t struggling.”

“We are asking local people and businesses to consider donating to our Winter Appeal so that we can help those who are vulnerable through these difficult times,” added Imam Qasim.

The Al-Khair Foundation, established in 2003, is a leading faith-based UK charity that provides emergency relief and developmental support in some of the world’s most impoverished areas. Its aid programmes span 74 countries and have reached more than 50 million people.
