Song calling for death of pro-Palestinian female celebrities tops Israeli charts

A song by an Israeli rap duo that calls for the deaths of pro-Palestinian female celebrities has shot to the top of the charts in Israel.

The drill song, which artists Ness and Stilla said they recorded to be a “war anthem”, calls for the deaths of Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid and Mia Khalifa.

As of April 1, the song has racked up over 21 million views on YouTube since its release on November 14 last year.

The song’s title, “Harbu Darbu,” means “raining hell on one’s opponent,” taken from the Arabic phrases for “mayhem” and “strike.”

With a middle finger raised, the rappers demand that the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) target British Albanian singer Lipa, American Palestinian supermodel Hadid, and erstwhile American Lebanese adult content creator Khalifa.

The song calls for the IDF to “rain a storm” and “strike” a list of individuals, including the trio, who are pro-Palestinian advocates and who have publicly called for a ceasefire in Gaza.

They rap, “Every dog gets what he deserves in the end. Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa, Mia Khalifa. All IDF units are coming to do Harbu Darbu on their head.”

Nessya “Ness” Levi, 21, one half of the duo, celebrates Israeli air strikes on Gaza, singing, “Get your *ss ready because here comes the air force. You can feel the tremors all the way to Tel Aviv.”

Meanwhile, Dor “Stilla” Soroker, 25, refers to the “sons of Amalek,” a controversial biblical reference also made by President Benjamin Netanyahu, which the International Court of Justice ruled could be considered “plausible” in genocidal intent.

The controversial song is currently being used by IDF forces in Gaza; one soldier released a video on TikTok showing a group of Israeli soldiers listening to it while demolishing Palestinian cars with an armoured vehicle.

Despite lyrics threatening Palestinian advocates and likening Palestinians to “sons of Amalek,” a spokesperson for

YouTube parent company Google told The Muslim News that the video does not violate its hate speech and harassment policy. The Muslim News also reached out to TikTok, but the Chinese-owned app refused to comment on its decision not to remove the song from its platform.
