Mahrez, Sobhi and Can on the move?

29th Mar 2018

Football Transfer

Roma could reignite their interest in Riyad Mahrez this summer, according to The Mirror. The Leicester winger tried to fight his way out of the club to go to Manchester City during the January transfer window. While he would have been a squad player there, however, Roma see him as a potential first-teamer. Leicester would still demand a huge transfer fee for the Algerian, under contract until 2020. But Roma would be willing to seek a cash-plus-player deal for a player they have coveted for some time.

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante says he feels “at home” with the Premier League champs despite speculation linking him with a return to France to join Ligue 1 PSG.  Kante was key to Leicester City’s league title triumph in 2015/16 before he moved to Chelsea for £32m that summer and help the London side achieve the same feat the following year. “I am at home. It is my club, I am a Chelsea player,” Kante, who has been linked in the media with a move to PSG, was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.

Emre Can has insisted he has all the attributes to excel at a “very big club” as fears intensify around his Liverpool exit. The German midfielder’s contract expires this season and many on Merseyside feel he is preparing for pastures new next season. “I have the self-confidence to say that my qualities are sufficient to play in a very big club next season,” Can told Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Liverpool are set for a move for Stoke winger Ramadan Sobhi, according to reports. The Kop could bag their second Egyptian star in a year following last summer’s arrival of Mohamed Salah from Roma. TEAMtalk say Salah has been singing the praises of his international team-mate, who joined Stoke in a £5million deal from Cairo based Al Ahly two years ago. Sobhi, 21, was on Liverpool’s radar before his move to the Midlands and Klopp now step up his interest. The report suggests Stoke will demand £15m for the Pacey midfielder. Liverpool are hopeful the potential arrival of Sobhi will help keep Salah at Anfield.

Watford boss Javi Gracia does not know whether Abdoulaye Doucouré will stay at the club. The 25-year-old has been an impressive performer this term for the Hornets, who are keen to tie him down to a new deal and have begun discussions. But with Man United, Arsenal and Tottenham reported to be interesting in signing the French midfielder, Gracia does not know what the future holds. “I don’t know, I don’t know what happens in the future, whether he will sign a new contract or stay with us a long time, I don’t know,” the Spaniard said.
