Mo Farah will take on the Great Manchester Run next May following his second 26.2-mile race at the London Marathon.

Farah has announced his intentions to race in the popular Manchester 10,000 next spring, an event he first contested 10 years ago as a young 24-year-old. On that occasion, he finished third behind Kenyan Micah Kogo and Eritrean Zersenay Tadese. Since then the race has grown to become one of Europes largest 10,000 events.

The four-time Olympic champion most recently won a fourth consecutive Great North Run title in his first road race after hanging up his spikes to end an illustrious track career.

Tansfer:  Arsène Wenger has admitted for the first time that Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez could be sold in January to ensure that Arsenal receive some money for the pair.

The star players are both out of contract at the end of the season and talks about new deals have been continuing for more than a year but are no closer to being agreed.

World Cup Qualifiers: Egypt scored a 95th-minute penalty to beat Congo 2-1 in Alexandria and so reach the World Cup for the first time in over a quarter of a century.

Mohamed Salah was the Egyptian hero, scoring both goals in a win that qualified them for their third finals – and first since 1990.

The euphoria was intense since Arnold Bouka-Moutou had stunned the hosts when equalizing for Congo after 88 minutes. But the Egyptians’ World Cup hoodoo ended as Salah held his nerve late on.
