Sir, How is it possible for the most powerful democracy in the world to disregard the international law? The answer: because it is the most powerful country that it can get away with it.
President of the US, Donald Trump’s support for making Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is a violation of International Law (The Muslim News, December 29). So is Israel’s continued occupation of Palestinian territories and building of illegal settlements. However, the US rewards Israel by giving it billions of dollars of grants and arming it with the most sophisticated weapons.
It just shows the double standards by the Western countries – no respect for democracy or law.
