General election coverage

Sir, Your coverage of the general election was excellent, especially the interviews with three party leaders, including the Prime Minister. (The Muslim News, November 29). The questions you asked are what are of concern in our community. I don’t agree to many of the answers but at least we know what their views are and helped us to make up our mind who to vote for.
It seems we have a long way to go before Muslim concerns are taken into consideration by the Government. We have to actively participate in the political process including the elections if we want to make any difference.

Over 120 people attended a landmark conference on the media reporting of Islam and Muslims. It was held jointly by The Muslim News and Society of Editors in London on September 15.
