Fear and insecurity after Sabra & Shatila massacre

25th Dec 2020

Sir, I still sniff the smell of the dead bodies in my refugee camp of Sabra and Shatila when they left them for a week unburied. The fear we had left and the insecurity of life that we had experienced after the massacres was endless. As a child I was unable to speak about what I saw for two years, my cousin Kayed, whose torso was stuck against the wall is still vivid in my mind.
Yours,
Fatima
