The Muslim News Awards for Excellence: feedback

The Muslim News has been inundated with positive response from guests at this year’s The News Awards for Excellence held on April, we include some of the many words of support and gratitude kindly forwarded to us:

It was good to see so many Muslims and non-Muslims coming together to celebrate the achievements of exceptional people. I would like to congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of The Muslim New. I know how hard you and the people around you, worked against the odds to keep the paper going all these years. You have provided exceptional services to the Muslim Ummah in this country and abroad.
Dr Abdul-Rahim Hassan, Southmoor, Oxon

Congratulations on 30 years of The Muslim News and 17 years of the Awards for Excellence. The event is always well organised, my husband and I thought that this year’s ceremony was more sleek and polished. The timing is good for people who have to travel from work and the break for prayer and starter service are also spot on.
Adlin Darwish, Director, Legal Resources, Middle East Eye

The Muslim News Awards are always my favourite, most interesting and inspirational, with such a great range of winners, presenters, speakers and guests. It is a privilege to be invited.

Congratulations on hosting another great event. As always, it was a really inspiring evening and much needed as without it, we are unlikely to hear of so many of the worthwhile projects, initiatives and talented individuals that British Muslims represent but are rarely acknowledged for. Everything was well-organised and ran quite quickly. Your team of volunteers are amazing and congratulations to them.
Dr Fauzia Ahmad, Senior Lecturer in Sociology, Goldsmiths, University of London

The awards giving ceremony was conducted very professionally and awards were given to right and deserving people. Particularly we appreciated the names of the awards, which were given in the name of our Muslim leaders and scholars. The timing, food and catering were very good and food delicious. Ghazanfar Ali, Harrow Councillor

Many thanks for inviting me to your awards dinner. It really was an inspiring evening, and great to meet so many successful and positive people. The award winners were all fascinating. I also enjoyed meeting your other guests.
Ian MacGregor, Editor Emeritus, Telegraph Media Group

The Muslim News Award of Excellence has now become an annual event of the UK Muslim Community. This in my view is not a coincidence, it is but due, amongst other factors, due to the wider inclusivity at the core of the strategic goal and objective of the Award of Excellence.
Ibrahim Adewusi, Hon Project Coordinator, Muslim Association of Nigeria

Thank you so much for organising such a fantastic event that makes the UK Muslim community appreciate how much talent and potential we have! And thank you for giving the SOAS Silk Road Collective the honour to perform. I enjoyed every bit of the event, especially the hard-working sound engineers who made sure that our performance ran smoothly. The food was impeccable and the service was prompt. I particularly appreciate the fact that all the volunteers were acknowledged with their names displayed on the big screens after the award ceremony. This is something precious that most similar events fail to do.
Iskandar Ding, SOAS, University of London

The Muslim News Awards is one of the highlights of the year for the Muslim community. I look forward to it each year. The dinner is always a resounding success. This was no exception: colleagues from our offices in Manchester, Birmingham and London, as well as some major donors, all enjoyed the evening. This year’s event was the best I’ve attended so far: the food was good, the timekeeping was better than any other Muslim event I’ve been to in recent years, and the guest list had a good mix across different sectors and communities.
Islam Uddin, Fundraising Manager, Human Appeal

As always it was an excellent event. I enjoyed all of it. The timing was very good. The food was excellent, the service was also very good. Most importantly the organisation generally was excellent.
Jaafar El-Ahmar, Journalist, Media Production House

I would quite comfortably say this event is Jewel in the Crown of the Muslim Community of the UK. Well organised and represented the whole Community of the UK. Awards were well deserved from different walk of life. Timing & the food just right. Jaffer Kapasi OBE, Director, East Midlands Chamber of Commerce

Thank you very much for including Canon Roland Riem and me at your awards ceremony. It was a pleasure to celebrate with you the amazing achievements of Muslims in the UK and at such a well organised event. Your sparkling event is a beacon and I congratulate you for making it happen.
Sir Jonathan Portal, Member, Winchester Cathedral

Thank you for a wonderful evening. As always it’s inspirational and uplifting to witness the efforts/contributions made by so many different people and organisations to society.
Khadijeh Ahmadi-Moghaddam, Trainee Solicitor, Rosling KingLLP

I enjoyed the celebration of people of service and aspirational character. The evening was an opportunity for an annual reconnect with colleagues working towards the strengthening and betterment of our community and wider society. I thought the choice of Uyghur cultural performance was very good.
Luqman Ali, Director, Khayaal Theatre Company

It was an honour to attend The Muslim News Awards. I found it to be a hugely inspiring evening and it was wonderful to hear about all the amazing work that Muslims are doing in the UK and internationally.
