Palestine: Israeli settler kills Palestinian woman in West Bank car attack

By Mohamed al-Ghafri

JERUSALEM (AA): A Palestinian woman was run over and killed by an Israeli settler in the occupied West Bank on Friday.

An unidentified settler rammed a car into 63-year-old Ghadeer Anis Abdullah Fuqaha, a resident of Sinjil, a town located north of Ramallah.

The Mayor of Sinjil, Hazem Tawafsha, stated that the victim, identified as Ghadeer Anis Abdullah Fuqaha, 63, was standing with her husband at the entrance to the town, near the settler-only bypass Road 60 when she was killed.

The attack took place on a road between the settlements of Ofra and Shilo in the occupied West Bank.

The settler fled the scene and is yet to be apprehended.

Fuqaha was critically wounded and succumbed to her injuries soon after the attack.

Her husband, Saleh Abu Hamada, 67, said the Israeli settler rammed his wife with the car and fled the scene.

“He didn’t stop, he didn’t slow down, he just rammed her with his car, and sped away,” the husband stated, “We were just heading back home.”

“She was always very socially active, loves to be around people and her family. Her heart was always loving and caring,” her niece, Zahra said, “She was a loving mother to everybody who knew her

The Israeli Army Radio also confirmed her death but did not disclose any details of the attack.

In related news, Israeli settlers attacked and injured three Palestinians who were working on their lands in the Wadi Qana area, in Deir Istiya town, west of Salfit in the central West Bank.

Two of the Palestinians have been identified as Mohammad Rayyan and Yassin Rayyan, from Qarawat Bani Hassan town.

Many farmers, who were working on their lands in the area, rushed to the aid of the Palestinians and managed to force the settlers away.

Settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank has soared in recent weeks, including attacks on people, agricultural lands, homes and other properties.
