JERUSALEM (AA): Israeli forces shot dead two Palestinians in Jerusalem on Wednesday.

Israeli police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld said that a Palestinian was shot dead after he allegedly stabbed and seriously injured a Jewish woman at the central bus station in Western Jerusalem.

Earlier, Basel Sader, a 19-year-old Palestinian, was shot dead after he allegedly tried to stab an Israeli police officer at the Old City of Jerusalem’s Al-Amoud (Damascus) Gate.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that Israeli police shot the teenager and left him to bleed to death.

The simultaneous attacks marked an escalation in a wave of alleged stabbing attacks over the past 12 days that have left seven Israelis killed and dozens injured.

According to Palestinian Health Ministry figures, Wednesday’s death toll brings the total number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since the start of October to 32, including nine children.

A total of 21 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank and 11 in the Gaza strip, in addition to 1,700 Palestinians who were shot and hurt by Israeli gunfire, the ministry said.

On Tuesday Israeli government announced new of new punitive measures to be applied against Palestinians attackers and the residents of East Jerusalem.

The measure, approved by Israel’s security cabinet on Tuesday, allows the Israeli police to seal of Palestinians’’ neighborhoods in East Jerusalem and deploys hundreds of police officers and soldiers in the city

Also on Wednesday, Israeli police closed the neighborhoods of Ras al-Amoud, Jabl Al-Mukaber and Sur Baher with concrete blocks.
