GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA): Two Palestinians were killed late Monday during Israeli airstrikes on the southern border of the Gaza Strip, said local authorities.
Medical sources said the soldiers shot 26 Palestinians with life fire, and caused dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.
According to a statement by the Palestinian Red Crescent, an ambulance reached the bodies of the Palestinians, who were killed near Al-Qarara village east of Khan Younis district.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said in a statement that the bodies were brought to the Nasr Health Complex in Khan Younis, where their identification continues.
The Israeli army said earlier in a statement that a military aircraft targeted two Palestinians who approached the security fence along the Gaza border and placed a “suspicious object” nearby.
Meanwhile, dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, on Monday, and performed religious Jewish prayers under the protection of heavily armed Israeli forces according to the Islamic Endowment department (Waqf), Firas al-Dibs.
