ISTANBUL (AA): The suspected PKK terrorist who detonated a bomb-laden motorcycle that injured nearly a dozen victims in Istanbul has been captured, a security source said Friday.

The suspect was caught with a fake ID card at a security check point in Aksaray province , the source added. Two other suspects in the car were detained.

Ten people were injured when a bomb-laden motorcycle exploded near a police station in Istanbul on Thursday, the city’s governor said.

Speaking to reporters at the blast site, Gov. Vasip Sahin said the attack took place in Bahcelievler district, located on the European side of the city near the Yenibosna police station at approximately 3.50 p.m. (1250GMT).

“Ten of our citizens were injured in the explosion; no one is seriously injured,” Sahin said. Earlier, the governor tweeted that one of the injured was critical.

The explosion also damaged nearby cars and brok windows in the densely-populated residential district.

A police source said earlier that the identity of the suspect who used the motorcycle in the attack has been determined.

The source, who wished to stay anonymous due to restrictions on talking to the media, said plastic explosives had been used in the blast.

Several fire-fighting vehicles and ambulances had rushed toward the scene following the incident ad security forces evacuated the area.
