Egypt: Gunmen kill three Egyptian soldiers in N Sinai
CAIRO (AA) – Three Egyptian army soldiers were killed Saturday when unidentified assailants targeted a checkpoint in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, a security source told Anadolu Agency.

The attack took place at al-Masoura checkpoint on a highway between Rafah and Arish.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack.

Since the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi in a 2013 military coup, the northern Sinai Peninsula has been the epicenter of a deadly insurgency against Egyptian security personnel.
