Sponsor Licence Specialists (SLS), a UK firm that helps businesses employ skilled workers from overseas, has been named Business of the Year at the Making a Difference (MTM) Awards held in Bristol on November 29, 2025.
The awards celebrate the achievements of organisations and individuals contributing to diverse communities across the Southwest, recognising excellence in business, community impact, and transparency.
The team at SLS, which specialises in guiding businesses through the complexities of immigration compliance, described the recognition as a “tremendous honour.”
Moslek Uddin, a director at SLS, said: “This reflects not only the hard work and dedication of our team, but also the loyalty and trust of our customers who continue to support us.”
SLS, which offers free consultations and promotes transparency, helps businesses clarify complex Home Office rulings and ensures compliance, supporting organisational growth, sustainability, and ongoing contribution to the economy. Its team, with expertise spanning immigration, law, and human resources, has achieved a 99 per cent success rate in securing sponsorships and visas on first application.
Naseem Talukdar, head of operations, said: “Compliance should never be about shortcuts. It’s about building trust, raising awareness, and empowering businesses to recruit skilled workers responsibly while meeting Home Office requirements.”
Immigration is estimated to contribute £3.3 billion annually to UK public finances, according to the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR). SLS provides end-to-end immigration services across sectors including care, construction, hospitality, and IT.
Moslek Uddin, who has previously worked as an executive head chef and ran his own restaurant, highlighted the challenges of staff shortages: “Our mission is to make the sponsorship process hassle-free, enabling businesses to run smoothly and expand. This award motivates us to continue raising awareness and delivering excellence for the communities and businesses we serve.”
‘Big Q’, the radio presenter who founded the MTM Awards 13 years ago, said: “We are proud to recognise Sponsor Licence Specialists as our MTM Business of the Year 2025. Our relationship with the SLS team goes back to 2017, and over the years we have consistently witnessed their integrity, professionalism, and commitment to community-focused impact. SLS exemplifies what this award stands for — excellence in service, transparency in practice, and meaningful contribution to business growth and the wider economy.”
The recognition follows a string of national accolades, with SLS having won two awards at the UK Enterprise Awards in 2024.
