Through all this turbulence,
Allah remains my rock.
I’ve tried to tether my faith
with a Palomar knot.
Yet still I trip and stumble.
That’s me you see dangling
right above the crevasse
when I’ve lost my footing
and taken a tumble.
And you, too, my dear,
are my rock among the people,
so secure yourself
to the Rock of rocks,
in case you ever crumble.
