I enjoy
Unlimited Netflix,
In my sprawling home,
All my needs and desires
Pre-paid, delivered to my door
Safe
From the death and squalor
Of diseased slums,
Dank prisons,
War and massacre,
Misery that allows
No option to ‘stay safe’,
No hi-tech hide-aways,
No quarantine,
No escape
How is it even possible
That parallel worlds,
Of terror and tranquility,
Agony and indulgence,
Hell and heaven,
So easily,
Seamlessly,
Co-exist?!
It’s as if
We think
It’s okay to persist
In our happy bubble,
Whilst most writhe and sink
Into a black, vacant,
Abyss
