Former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn congratulated Finsbury Park Mosque on hosting its annual iftar at Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium, on April 11.
“We are celebrating the breaking of the fast, but it is also about the strength of the community coming together,” he told The Muslim News. “We thank the Finsbury Park Mosque for its work for the homeless people, helping people who are suffering from alcohol and drug addiction.”
Noora, a 16-year-old student was also in attendance. She told The Muslim News, “Last year, it was a bit lonely not being able to meet your family, but now it is a bit nicer. Last year, during the pandemic, we had a few gatherings in Zoom, especially on Eid Day when we opened our presents together on Zoom, which was not nice. But it is not the same as being in person, not being able to see your aunts and uncles and grandparents. “
