Sir, I was shocked to read the news of the brutal attack on Tory MP Sir David Amess (Ref: The Muslim News, October 29).
I am glad to note that the British nation is united in condemnation of the beastly attack cutting across party lines or without taking into consideration caste, creed, colour, religion, ethnicity or anything like that.
In a civilised society, there is no room for eliminating a person with whom one disagrees. One has to fight at a thought level. The fight at the thought level needs sustained efforts and well-laid plans. There should be concrete arguments for distortions by well-meaning and intelligent people to fight with.
Killing a person is not a solution. It will worsen the situation and widen the gulf between various sections of society.
My sympathies are with the bereaved family.
Yours
