Sir, Fascinating read and in-depth analysis of the present situation in Afghanistan, especially for those of us who were too young to know the history of the region. (‘Afghanistan debacle marks a shift in global power balance’ August 27, The Muslim News)
Much of this is missing in the mainstream media, which as usual gives a biased and superficial reading of the situation, always painting the Western players as honest brokers.
Thank you for your efforts.

Sir, The demonisation of Pakistan is common in the western media, reflecting their government’s pro-Indian policies, in the Covid-19 pandemic and geopolitics, highlighted by the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. So it was a breath of fresh air reading Mushahid Hussain’s detailed balanced analysis of the role played by regional and US, UK and European countries in Afghanistan.
Pakistan was bullied into supporting the US’s so-called War on Terror, which led to huge sacrifices made by the Pakistani people and the economy. This seems to escape the western media’s biased reporting of the Afghanistan crisis.

Sir, Afghanistan now has an opportunity to become a successful Islamic government that inspires other Muslim countries to follow the same ideas that would give them freedom from Western colonialism that has been in the form of puppet governments.
