Your editorial on the UK’s double standards regarding breaches of international law is well argued (‘Editorial: A tale of two standards: UK’s silence on Israel’s breaches of international humanitarian law’, The Muslim News, 28 March).
It has become the norm in the West to disregard international law when human rights abuses are committed by themselves or their allies, as can be seen in Gaza and Lebanon, where Israel has killed and continues to kill civilians, especially women and children.
The hypocrisy is glaring in how the West applies international law: firmly when Russia is illegally occupying Ukrainian territories, yet with silence or complicity when Israel is occupying—and has been occupying since 1967—Palestinian territories.
