Letter: Locked up for a year without trial — what happened to British justice?

Sir, I could not believe it when I read your article on Fatema Zainab Rajwani and the others incarcerated in a British prison for over a year without trial. One would think this only happens in tyrannical regimes.

You report her detention stems from an August 2024 protest at the Bristol factory of the Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit Systems, where she and others were charged with criminal damage, violent disorder, and aggravated burglary.

For what one might consider a meagre crime, the government is treating them inhumanely. Shame.
Yours,
