MotorServ UK entrepreneur celebrates triple award success

31st Dec 2021

Kamran Saleem, the founder of the Solihull-based MotorServ UK, was recognised for his entrepreneurship and community service with three awards in five days last month.

The Asian Business Chamber of Commerce Awards, a part of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, honoured Saleem and his team on November 18.
MotorServ UK won both ‘Outstanding Customer Service of the Year’ and ‘Outstanding Business

Resilience during COVID-19’ at the awards’ dinner held in Birmingham’s Malmaison Hotel. Throughout the pandemic, the servicing centre was praised for coming to the aid of the NHS by providing five vehicles to GP Delivered Quickly (GPDQ) service as part of Birmingham City Council’s Covid-19 response team, which facilitates emergency GPs to assist the ambulance service.

The saloon vehicles sourced by MotorServ UK required air-locked boots to avoid cross-contamination of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) between patients. The business was a distributor of PPE and hand sanitiser in the region and set aside a portion of its workshop for the storage of food and parcels donated to support key workers and the homeless.

On November 22 in London, Saleem was named as Midlands Winner in the ‘Service Industries’ category at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. 159 winners were recognised across the country for their business journeys and achievements over the past year, which proved to be even more challenging due to the pandemic.

“It was fantastic to hear so many inspiring business stories after a few difficult years and even better to have been able to invite all of our finalists to the in-person ceremony and celebrate together,” said Francesca James, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

The judging panel said that Kamran provided a “really interesting story and has shown great growth so far. It’s also refreshing to see a business in the automotive sector focus on fantastic customer service and retention.”

Reflecting on his company’s national recognition Saleem told The Muslim News, “For my team and I to be recognised not once but three times at such prestigious ceremonies is an honour and true testament to the hard work, dedication and passion we all have to deliver a five-star service to our loyal customers. It’s this consistent delivery that has propelled MotorServ UK forward over the last few years – a highly-respected and trusted automotive centre that is proud to play its part in being fully immersed in the heart of the Midlands community.”
