Hertfordshire Police have re-appealed for information on May 18 in connection with an alleged Islamophobic abuse incident in Borehamwood earlier this year.

The incident took place at around 1pm on April 13 at the entrance to Aberford Park on Gateshead Road. Officers said a woman in her 40s, who was walking her dog, was approached by two women who allegedly blocked the park entrance and directed abusive comments towards her. Police believe the incident was religiously aggravated and have confirmed the victim is Muslim.

The investigation has been ongoing since the matter was first reported, and officers have now issued a public appeal for witnesses, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area at the time. No arrests have been made.

PC Malgorzata Smigulet, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was understandably a distressing situation for our victim and we have been conducting enquiries since this was first reported to us.

As part of our enquiries, we are now seeking information from the public. I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or may have captured it on dash cam footage at the time.

If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please get in touch.” Police have released descriptions of the two suspects.

The first was described as wearing a light grey fitted short-sleeve top, light-coloured slim-fitting trousers, and light trainers. The second was described as wearing black clothing.
