Gaza: 63 Palestinians killed, 112 wounded by Israeli attacks last 24 hours

Gaza City, (Al Jazeera, Wafa): 63 Palestinians were killed 112 others wounded by indiscriminate bombing by Israeli forcesn in Gaza Strip the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health. This brings total Palestinians killed since 7 October to 31,553, including 13,000 children and 73,546 injured in Israeli attacks in Gaza.

Medical sources reported that seven civilians were killed and dozens of others, mostly children and women, were wounded in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Earlier in the day, at least 36 Palestinian civilians lost their lives and dozens of others sustained various injuries following aerial bombardment by Israeli fighter jets targeting a populated home belonging to the Tabatibi family in west of the Nuseirat camp.

At least 80 civilians altogether were killed and dozens injured, mostly children and women, in Israeli airstrikes that targeted several homes and buildings in Gaza City, the Nuseirat camp, and the city of Rafah.

Local sources said that Israeli warpalnes shelled with several missiles a 7-storey residential building housing displaced persons near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, killing many and causing multiple injuries.

Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets carried out an airstrike on a house on Al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City. The strike resulted in dozens of causalities.

Five civilians were also killed and dozens of others were wounded in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City.

Another strike hit a house in the Al-Nasr neighborhood in the city, resulting in the killing of many civilians and causing others to sustain injuries.

Israeli air force further conducted intense airstrikes targeting several sites and areas in the town of Beit Hanoun, north of the Gaza Strip, coinciding with unleashing light bombs in the sky of the town.

Meanwhile, the specter of famine looms over the besieged enclave, where most of its inhabitants suffer from shortages of water, food, medicine, and fuel, according to the United Nations and testimonies of residents.

The Israeli authorities continue to block and hinder the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, especially into northern areas. The aid reaching the southern part of the strip does not meet the needs of the residents, especially in Rafah, considered the last refuge for displaced individuals. Despite its limited area of approximately 65 square kilometers, Rafah hosts over 1.4 million Palestinians.

On the first night of Ramadan, around 500 worshippers managed to perform Taraweeh prayers at the Al-Awda Mosque, the largest in Rafah. However, they did not receive the usual distribution of water and dates, and Ramadan lanterns were not lit due to power outages. The worshippers relied on their phones amidst the darkness.

Aside from the rubble of the Al-Farouq Mosque in Rafah, targeted by Israeli airstrikes two weeks earlier, volunteers laid mats in preparation for Taraweeh prayers.

However, hundreds of thousands of worshippers will not be able to perform these prayers in mosques across the strip, as hundreds of them have been reduced to rubble or damaged due to Israeli bombardment.

According to Israeli government 1,139 Israelis were killed by Hamas on 7 October in southern Israel and 134 Israelis and foreign nationals are still detained by Hamas in Gaza.
