Arab & Muslim countries condemn Netanyahu’s Greater Israel comment

The latest escalation coincides with mounting regional outrage. The foreign ministers of 31 Arab and Islamic countries, joined by the heads of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Gulf Cooperation Council, on Friday condemned Netanyahu’s recent comments on the so-called “Greater Israel”.

In a joint statement, they warned the remarks posed “a direct threat to Arab national security, to the sovereignty of states, and to regional and international peace and security.” Netanyahu, speaking to Israeli channel i24 earlier this week, said he felt “very attached” to the vision of a Greater Israel, describing himself as being on a “historic and spiritual mission” continuing the dream of “generations of Jews”.
