(AA, Al Jazeera, Wafa): Israeli indiscriminate airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon left 82 dead including women, children, and elderly people. Monday and injured 180 others, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

The death toll from Israel’s indiscriminate bombings against Lebanon since last October has reached 2,792, the Lebanese Health Ministry said Tuesday.

A statement reported that 12,772 people have also been wounded since hostilities began last October.

Israel has mounted a huge air campaign in Lebanon since late last month against what it claims are Hezbollah targets, in an escalation from a year of cross-border warfare since the start of Tel Aviv’s onslaught against the Gaza Strip. It also launched a ground invasion of Lebanon on Oct. 1.

The Israeli occupation fighter jets launched violent raids targeting the city of Baalbek and the towns of Shamshtar, Al-Halaniyeh, Brital, Taraya, Al-Hafir, Al-Alaq, Younin, Al-Ram, Hadath Baalbek and the Gouraud barracks.

The Israeli warplanes also targeted the towns of Khiyam, Al-Jumaijmeh, Qaliya, Al-Sarirah, Al-Duwayr, Jbaa, Shaqra, Al-Naqoura, Alma Al-Shaab, and Jabal Al-Labouneh in southern Lebanon.

“The Israeli killing and destruction machine committed massacres in Baalbek city and across its district on Monday,” said the official Lebanese news agency.

The report noted that over 30 Israeli airstrikes hit areas across Baalbek on Monday.

Israel continues deadly strikes on southern Lebanon, killing at least 15 people.

An Israeli airstrike on a residential building in southern Lebanon killed five people and injured several others on Tuesday, medical sources told Anadolu.

The airstrike was carried out in the Haret Sidon neighborhood, located near the coastal city of Sidon.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, the airstrike prompted an immediate response from emergency teams at the scene.

It marks the second time that Haret Sidon has been struck in recent days. A similar airstrike on Sunday killed eight people and injured 25 others.
Two people were killed and three others injured in Israeli airstrikes in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon on Tuesday, according to Lebanese media.

The state news agency NNA said two people lost their lives when Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes in Yohmor town in western Bekaa.

Three more people were injured in another strike in the town of Qellaya, the broadcaster said.

In southern Lebanon, Israeli tanks advanced into El-Hamames hill and the eastern outskirts of Khiam town, NNA said.

Israeli warplanes also mounted airstrikes in several areas in southern Lebanon, the news agency said, without giving an exact figure of casualties from the attacks.

An Israeli air strike destroyed a five-storey residential building sheltering displaced families in Gaza’s Beit Lahiya, north Gaza, killing at least 109 Palestinians, including children, and wounding dozens.

Medical sources indicated that 115 Palestinians were killed as a result of Israeli indiscriminate bombings on the Gaza Strip since dawn today, including 109 from the northern Gaza Strip, amidst the escalation of the Israeli aggression on the Strip.

According to the media office, the majority of people inside the building were women and children displaced from their areas by Israeli attacks.

“This new crime comes in parallel with the occupation’s plan to destroy the health system in northern Gaza and put four hospitals there out of service in addition to preventing the entry of medicines and medical supplies,” it said.

According to witnesses, dozens of dead bodies and injured people were recovered from under the rubble of the destroyed building by local residents.

“Medics are unable to access the area due to Israeli attacks amid a collapse of the health service,” one of the witnesses said.

In Gaza, at least 43,061 people have been killed and 101,223 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023.

Israeli bombardment Tuesday evening killed at least ten Palestinians and injured scores of others in Beit Lahia city in the northern war-torn Gaza Strip, according to local sources.

They said that the occupation forces targeted three inhabited houses in the city, claiming the lives of at least ten civilians and injuring dozens of others.

This came as the healthcare system has completely collapsed in the northern Gaza Strip amid a deadly Israeli offensive in the area, as confirmed by the same sources and reported by Anadolu Agency.

Two civilians were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Khirbet al-Adas area north of Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli fighter jets hit a 5-story building in the city as more than 200 people were inside, Gaza’s government media office said.

Marwan Al-Hams, the director of field hospitals in Gaza, said the limited number of medics in northern Gaza makes it impossible to deal with the high number of casualties from the attack.

He appealed to the international community to dispatch medical teams to provide medical help to the injured people in northern Gaza.

“The Israeli occupation has committed four massacres of families in the last 24 hours, resulting in 41 deaths and 113 injuries,” the ministry said.

“Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

The Israeli army has continued a deadly onslaught in northern Gaza since Oct. 5 to allegedly prevent Hamas from regrouping amid a suffocating siege on the area. Palestinians, however, accuse Israel of seeking to occupy the area and forcibly displace its residents.

More than 1,000 people have been killed in northern Gaza since the offensive began, according to the Palestinian Civil Defense Service.

At least four people were killed and 80 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on Tuesday on a marketplace in Gaza City and northwest of the enclave, the Civil Defense Service said.

Spokesman Mahmoud Basal said the victims were rushed to the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the last hour after attacks on the Sahaba market in Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City and Sudaniya area in northwestern Gaza Strip.

According to witnesses, an Israeli drone fired a missile into Al-Sahaba market, killing and injuring several people.

More than 1,000 people have been killed in northern Gaza since the offensive began, according to the Palestinian Civil Defense Service. The onslaught was the latest episode in a brutal Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since a Hamas attack last year, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.

Several people were reportedly killed and injured in an Israeli airstrike on a popular marketplace east of Gaza City on Tuesday evening, according to witnesses.

The Health Ministry has yet to issue an official toll from the Israeli attack.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant hinted Tuesday at Israel’s intention to assassinate new Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem.

Qassem was elected by the group’s Shura Council to succeed Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut last month, according to a Hezbollah statement on Tuesday.

In the first Israeli reaction to his election, Gallant posted a photo of Qassem on X with the words, “Temporary appointment. Not for long.”

In Hebrew, he added: “The countdown has begun.”

Israel has killed Hezbollah’s top leadership in a massive air campaign across Lebanon that started last month.
