Gaza: 98 Palestinians killed, 200 injured by Israeli bombings last 48 hours

(The Muslim News): At least 98 more Palestinians were killed and 200 injured by Israeli Defence Forces indiscriminate bombings in the Gaza Strip in the last 48 hours, taking the overall death toll of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since last Oct. 7, to 41,118, and 95,125 injured, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Thursday.

Gaza’s Civil Defence says its teams have retrieved the bodies of two Palestinians after an Israeli attack targeted a home in central Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp.

At least seven people have been wounded in the strike on the Shaheen family home. They were transported to al-Awda Hospital, it said in a statement.

Rescue teams also rushed to another location in the camp, which was struck a short while ago. “It’s been a harsh and difficult night in the middle area as the occupation continues bombarding residential homes,” the agency said.

At least six Palestinians were killed and others injured this evening in a series of Israeli airstrikes on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, according to local sources.

Reports indicate that the fatalities occurred when Israeli warplanes targeted the home of the Shahin family in the refugee camp. In addition, two other homes belonging to the Ajez and Sha’er families were targeted by Israeli bombardment.

Meantime, five people, including three children, were injured when another Israeli airstrike hit the home of the Al-Hour family in the camp.

Earlier in the day, three people were killed in a strike on the Hassan family’s home in the Bir Na’ja area in northern Gaza.

Two others were killed in drone attacks south of Khan Younis, while three more were injured in a strike targeting civilians in the town of Abasan, east of Khan Younis.

Additionally, a body was recovered near the Karm Abu Salem border crossing and taken to Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis.

Local sources also reported additional casualties from Israeli drone strikes on civilians near the al-Shati refugee camp’s market in western Gaza City.

Several civilians were killed and others were injured on Thursday after the occupation warplanes bombed a house in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Medical sources reported that at least four civilians, including two brothers, were killed and a number of others were injured after the occupation fighter jets targeted a house in the European area east of the city of Khan Yunis.

On Wednesday in the city of Khan Yunis, 13 civilians were killed and a number of others were injured as a result of the Israeli warplanes bombing a house belonging to al-Qara family in the town of Khuza’a, east of the city. A number of them were transferred to the European Gaza Hospital.

A fisherman was also killed as a result of being targeted by the Israeli navy at sea opposite Mawasi area of ​​Khan Yunis.

In the town of Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip, nine people were killed, including three children and two women, and a number of missing persons, as a result of the Israeli bombing of a house belonging to Al-Najjar family.

In Al-Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, four Palestinians were killed and 11 others were injured as a result of the Israeli targeting of a house owned by Abu Atwi family in Block C of the camp.

The Israeli warplanes launched a raid on Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, and on a house in the vicinity of the Mufti’s land, north of Al-Nuseirat camp, central Gaza Strip.

The Israeli artillery also fired shells at the northern areas of Al-Nuseirat camp and the southwestern areas of Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Apache helicopters fired at civilian homes in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, and occupation forces fired heavily at the Zeitoun and Sabra neighborhoods in Gaza City.

UNRWA’s chief decries the “endless and senseless killing, day after day” in Gaza after Israeli air strikes killed at least 18 people – including six of his staff – at a shelter for war-displaced civilians.

At least 18 people, including six UN staff, and including women and children –were killed on Wednesday after Israel targeted a UN shelter in Nuseirat.

The Civil Defense said several children and women were among the victims in the attack that targeted the al-Jaouni School in the Nuseirat refugee camp.

The attack was the fifth by the Israeli army against the school since Oct. 7, amid Tel Aviv’s onslaught on Gaza, it said.

The school shelters more than 5,000 displaced civilians in Gaza, according to authorities.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, illegal Israeli settlers burnt olive trees and Palestinian property in Yatma, a village south of Nablus.

“A group of illegal settlers from the Rehelim settlement near Yatma set fire to olive trees, a vehicle, and a scrap yard in the village and they immediately withdrew,” said Ahmed Sanobar, head of the Yatma village council.

According to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Israeli settlers have killed 19 Palestinians, injured more than 785 others, and displaced 28 Bedouin communities since October 7 of last year.

Estimates suggest about 720,000 settlers live in illegal settlements across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

In Israel, the number of those killed in the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 is at least 1,139, while more than 200 people were taken captive.
