Gaza: 94 killed, 291 injured by Israeli bombardments last 24 hrs

(The Muslim News): 94 Palestinians have been killed and 291 more Palestinians have been injured by Israeli Defence Forces indiscriminate bombings in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, taking the overall death toll of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces to 39,006 and 89,818 others injured since last Oct. 7, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Monday.

“Israeli forces killed 23 people and injured 91 others in three ‘massacres’ against families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry said.

In addition, at least 71 people were killed and over 200 others injured in Israeli attacks in Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip early, the Health Ministry said on Monday.

The Israeli army ordered Palestinians living in the eastern neighborhoods in Khan Younis early Tuesday to evacuate immediately, with residents seen fleeing their areas on foot and by carts amid Israeli bombing, the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

The Nasser Medical Complex in the city called on residents “to urgently donate blood” for the injured amid a severe shortage of blood units.

In a statement, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed that “the presence of multiple military operations and rocket fire from the eastern part of Khan Younis has made staying there dangerous.”

The military had earlier designated the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Younis as a “safe zone” for displaced Palestinians in the area.

Two weeks ago, the Israeli army killed at least 90 Palestinians and injured 300 others in attacks on al-Mawasi area near Khan Younis, which was designated by the military as a “safe zone.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the “massacre”, saying the attack targeted the commander of Hamas’ armed wing, Mohammed Deif, and his deputy.

There was no Israeli confirmation, however, of the commander’s death.

Earlier this evening, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced that two of its clinics were taken out of service due to their location in areas east of Khan Yunis, which the occupation has ordered its evacuation.

A Palestinian was Monday killed and many others were injured in an Israeli bombing on Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

WAFA correspondent said that the occupation forces bombed a tent for journalists inside Al-Aqsa Hospital in Dabr al-Balah, which led to the killing of a Palestinian and the injury of a number of others.

The death toll in Israel from Hamas-led attacks on October 7 is estimated at 1,139, with dozens of people still held captive in Gaza.
