Gaza: 72 Palestinians killed, 203 injured by Israeli indiscriminate bombings in last 24 hours

(The Muslim News): Over 72 Palestinians were killed and 203 other Palestinians injured, majority of them women and children, by Israeli Defence Forces indiscriminate bombings in the last 24 hours in the Gaza Strip, taking the overall death toll to 39,258 killed, including16,172 children, and 90,589 injured by Israeli forces since last Oct. 7, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Saturday.

Over nine months into the Israeli war, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

At least 31 Palestinians, including children, were killed and many others injured on Saturday in an Israeli attack targeting a field hospital in a school housing displaced people in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources said.

“The death toll from Israel’s attack on a field hospital inside a school housing displaced people in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza has risen to 31,” the Gaza government media office spokesman, Ismail Al-Thawabta, told Anadolu.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army stated that its fighter jets attacked the Khadija school in the central Gaza Strip, claiming to target Hamas members.

There was no immediate comment from the Palestinian group Hamas on the Israeli claims.

Earlier, the Gaza government media office said that “the Israeli occupation army committed a new massacre a short while ago by bombing a field hospital set up inside Khadija School in Deir al-Balah in the Central Governorate.”

Medical sources told Anadolu Agency that the Israeli army bombed the school in an area that was classified as a “humanitarian safe zone” in Deir al-Balah.

Emergency services and civil defense teams are currently working to recover the victims from the rubble. The number of fatalities may rise as search and rescue operations continue. The injured have been transported to Al-Aqsa Hospital, which is now overwhelmed with casualties.

Local sources reported that the Israeli warplanes bombed a residential apartment belonging to the Abu Tayr family in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of at least four people.

Meanwhile, the Israeli warplanes targeted an empty agricultural land in the Armida area, east of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunis.

The Israeli warplanes also bombed a house and agricultural land east of al-Maghazi camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Ambulance crews retrieved the bodies of five people who were killed as a result of the Israeli fighter jets targeting yesterday al-Yamani family’s house in al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.

The warplanes further bombed a house belonging to the Abu Khousa family on al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City.

Earlier this morning, the Israeli army called on the residents of the areas south of Khan Yunis city, namely the neighborhoods of Al-Manara, Al-Salam, Al-Hashash, Musbah, Qizan Al-Najjar, Qizan Abu Rashwan and Jurt Al-Lut to evacuate and head immediately west towards what it claims are “safe humanitarian areas.”

Early this morning, an Israeli airstrike targeted the northern area of Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of five civilians and injuring several others.

Local sources reported that Israeli fighter jets struck a residential home belonging to the Al-Masri family in the Misbah area, north of Rafah. The attack led to the immediate murder of five individuals and left dozens injured.

Emergency services and medical teams are currently working at the site of the strike, providing aid to the injured and assessing the full extent of the damage.

Israeli airstrikes targeting the Al-Maghazi and Al-Nuseirat refugee camps in central Gaza today resulted in the killing of three Palestinians and left several others injured.

Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes struck the Al-Mufti area, located north of the Nuseirat refugee camp. This attack led to the killing of one individual and left several others injured.

In a separate incident, Israeli aircraft targeted a residential home in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp, resulting in the killing of two Palestinians and injuring additional individuals.

At least nine Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Saturday in an Israeli attack in the southern Gaza Strip, Anadolu learned.

Medical sources at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said that they received nine Palestinians who were killed in an Israeli army bombing of two houses in southern Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that the Israeli army targeted a house in the Musabah area, north of Rafah, and another in Khan Younis.

The Israeli military admitted earlier Saturday to targeting the school, claiming it housed a Hamas command center, according to a statement from army spokesperson Avichay Adraee.

Hamas condemned the strike, asserting that the school housed “displaced innocent civilians, mostly women and children.”

Throughout the war, the Israeli military has urged Palestinians to move to these so-called humanitarian zones, but these areas have also been subjected to attacks, drawing condemnation from international organizations and governments.

The death toll in Israel from the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 is estimated at 1,139 with dozens of people still held captive in Gaza.
