Gaza: 55 Palestinians killed, 110 injured by Israeli forces last 24 hours

(The Muslim News): 55 more Palestinians killed and 110 more injured by Israeli Defence Forces’ indiscriminate attacks in the last 24 hours in Gaza Strip, taking the overall death toll of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since 7 October to 39,145 and 90,257 injured, the Ministry of Health in the enclave said on Wednesday.

Five Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Wednesday in an Israeli airstrike on tents housing displaced people in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to a medical source.

The attack targeted refugee tents in the Hamad City residential area north of Khan Younis, witnesses said.

For the third consecutive day, the Israeli army continued its military operations in Khan Younis amid artillery shelling, gunfire, and the demolition of residential buildings.

The army launched a surprise attack in the city after issuing immediate evacuation orders for residents in its eastern neighborhoods, which were previously designated by Tel Aviv as a “safe zone” for displaced civilians.

At least 129 Palestinians have since been killed and over 400 others injured in the ongoing Israeli offensive in the city, according to local authorities.

The Israeli army launched a surprise attack on the city’s eastern neighborhoods after issuing orders for residents to immediately evacuate their homes.

The area was previously designated by the Israeli army as a “safe zone” for displaced Palestinians amid Tel Aviv’s ongoing offensive in the Gaza Strip.

Gaza’s government media office said 44 Palestinians are still unaccounted for following the Israeli attack.

The media office said it has received around 1,350 calls for help from families trapped by the Israeli army in eastern Khan Younis.

According to the statement, some 237 houses were bombed in the area.

An Israeli fighter jet struck the Jorat al-Lout area east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, killing four Palestinians, witnesses said.

Medical sources at Nasser Hospital confirmed that four people had been killed in the attack.

A child was also killed in Israeli shelling of a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, according to his father.

Israeli artillery shelling was also reported in various areas east of Khan Younis, witnesses said.

Five civilians were killed this evening in Israeli airstrikes that targeted a house in central Gaza and a vehicle belonging to the electricity distribution company in the southern Gaza Strip.

Medical sources said a child was also killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting a house in Camp 2 in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Additionally, four civilians were killed in an airstrike that targeted a vehicle belonging to the electricity distribution company in Joret al-Lout in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, according to Wafa News Agency.
