Gaza: 30 Palestinians killed,146 injured by Israeli attacks last 24 hours

(The Muslim News):  30 more Palestinians were killed and 146 others injured in Israeli Defence Forces indiscriminate attacks in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, pushing up the overall death toll of Palestinians to 39,175 and 90,403 injured since last Oct. 7, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Thursday.

At least seven civilians today were killed and many others injured in an Israeli airstrike on the city of Khan Yunis.

In addition, medical sources reported that four civilians were killed and others were injured following an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Qaizan al-Najjar area, south of Khan Yunis. Medical sources said that the victims were transferred to Nasser Hospital in the city.

Meanwhile, three civilians were killed and others were injured as a result of the Israeli bombing of the town of Bani Suhaila, east of the city.

A number of Palestinians were killed and injured as a result of the ongoing Israeli occupation bombing of the Gaza Strip for the 293rd day in a row.

Medical sources reported that four Palestinians were killed and others were injured, including children and women, as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City.

A number of Palestinians were also injured as a result of the Israeli bombing of a residential apartment owned by Abu Jiab family in al-Shati Camp, west of Gaza City.

In the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, seven Palestinians, most of them children, were injured as a result of the Israeli bombing a house belonging to Abu Gharqud family near the entrance to the camp, reports Wafa News Agency.

In Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, Israeli tanks fired machine guns at Palestinians’ homes in the eastern areas of the neighborhood.

In the city of Khan Yunis, the Israeli warplanes launched two raids on the town of Al-Qarara, north of the city, at a time when informed sources in Gaza spoke of the Israeli forces besieging a house that had 10 people, including women and children, in the town.

The Israeli artillery also targeted with its shells a site near the Bani Suhaila roundabout, east of the city.

In Rafah, the Israeli artillery targeted the northern and western areas of the city, while the Israeli warplanes launched two raids on Gaza City.

An Israeli airstrike Wednesday targeting a gathering in the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip killed several Palestinians and injured many others as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a speech to the US Congress.

Witnesses told Anadolu Agency that an Israeli aircraft launched the strike on a gathering in the Beit Lahia project area, resulting in numerous casualties.

Israeli artillery also intensified shelling in the Zaytoun, Tel al-Hawa and Shuja’iyya neighborhoods in Gaza City, they added.

The Gaza Civil Defense said in a statement that an Israeli strike targeted a group of residents in the Beit Lahia project area, without providing further details.

At least 91 journalists have been detained by the Israeli army since the outbreak of the conflict in the Gaza Strip last Oct. 7, according to a local nongovernmental organization on Thursday.

Fifty-three journalists remain in detention, including six women journalists, the Palestinian Prisoner Society said in a statement.

The detained journalists include 16 from the Gaza Strip and 17 held without trial or charge under Israel’s policy of administrative detention, it added.

According to the NGO, at least 9,800 Palestinians have been rounded up by the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank since Oct. 7, 2023.

Tensions have been running high across the occupied West Bank amid a deadly Israeli offensive that killed nearly 39,200 people in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023.

At least 590 Palestinians have since been killed and nearly 5,400 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank, according to the Health Ministry.

The death toll in Israel from the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 is estimated at 1,139 with dozens of people still held captive in Gaza.
