Gaza: 25 Palestinians killed, 72 injured by Israeli bombings last 24 hours

(The Muslim News): 25 more Palestinians have been killed and 72 others injured by Israeli Defence Force indiscriminate bombings in last 24 hours  in the Gaza Strip, taking the overall Palestinians killed by Israeli bombing to 40,100 and 92,609 injured since last Oct. 7, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Sunday.

“Many people are still trapped under rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

Entire Palestinian families are being wiped out by with the latest Israeli air strikes in Gaza, reports Al Jazeera.

A family of eight, including six children, were killed while they were sleeping in Deir el-Balah, in the centre of the Strip.

Five civilians were killed and 15 others were injured Sunday in the Israeli bombing of a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

According to local sources, the occupation warplanes bombed a house belonging to the Saadi family in Nuseirat camp, resulting in the killing of five civilians and the injury of 15 others, reports Wafa News Agency.

At least 16 Palestinians, including a child, were killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, according to medical sources.

Four people lost their lives and two others were injured when an Israeli drone hit a house east of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, a medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital told Anadolu Agency.

Six more people, including a child, were killed and several others injured in the Israeli bombardment of a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, the source said.

Israeli attacks in several areas in the southern city of Khan Younis also left six Palestinians dead, another medical source said.

On Sunday, the Israeli army expanded its ground offensive in Khan Younis, reaching Hamad residential city in the western part of the city.

At least 23 Palestinians, including a woman and her six children, were killed on Sunday in fresh Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.

A woman and her six children were killed in an airstrike on a house east of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, the sources at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital told Anadolu.

Seven more people were killed and several others wounded in another Israeli attack on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, the source said.

Israeli artillery shelling was reported in the eastern areas of the Maghazi and Bureij refugee camps and the city of Deir al-Balah, witnesses said.

Four Palestinians, including a woman, were killed when an Israeli drone targeted their house in eastern Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, medical sources said.

Another woman was killed and several people were injured when an Israeli drone hit a house in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, according to the same sources.

Civil Defense teams retrieved the bodies of four people after an Israeli airstrike in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

Local sources told Anadolu that the Israeli army also demolished dozens of residential buildings in Khan Younis and the Saudi neighborhood in western Rafah.

Meanwhile, at least 82 civil defense personnel were killed and over 720 others injured in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since last Oct. 7, the agency said on Sunday.

In a statement, the Civil Defense Agency said its facilities and vehicles had been routinely targeted by the Israeli army during its offensive on the Palestinian enclave.

It accused Israel of “deliberately hindering humanitarian efforts aimed at saving lives and protecting civilians.”

According to the agency, civil defense teams have managed to recover the bodies of 35,000 people, while around 10,000 people remain trapped under the rubble.

It said fuel shortages and Israeli attacks hinder civil defense teams from responding to thousands of emergency calls.

“Around 2,210 bodies have disappeared from cemeteries across the Gaza Strip,” the agency said, without elaborating.

Israel’s dropping of around 85,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip has destroyed more than 80% of urban infrastructure and 90% of the general infrastructure.

“Around 17% of these ordnances remain unexploded,” it warned.

More than 10 months into the Israeli onslaught, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in the southern city of Rafah, where more than 1 million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.

An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 and more than 200 were taken captive.
