Gaza: 141 Palestinians killed, 400 injured by Israeli bombings last 24hrs

At least 141 more Palestinians were killed  and 400 others injured in Israeli indiscriminate attacks in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, pushing up the overall death toll to 38,584 and 88,881 others injured since last Oct. 7, the Ministry of Health in the battered territory said on Sunday.

In addition, at least 15 Palestinians were killed in Israeli bombardment on a UN-run school sheltering displaced Palestinians in the central Gaza Strip on Sunday, according to local authorities.

Some 80 other people were injured in the Israeli attack that targeted the Abu Oreiban School run by the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in the Nuseirat refugee camp, Gaza’s government media office said.

According to witnesses, several children and women were among the victims.

“This massacre was the latest in the genocide being committed by the (Israeli) occupation army against our Palestinian people,” the media office said.

The Israeli army confirmed the attack, claiming that the school serves as a hideout and operational infrastructure for attacks against its forces.

A military statement alleged that the army used “precise munitions and additional intelligence” to mitigate the risk of harming civilians.

Sunday’s school attack came one day after at least 90 people were killed and nearly 300 others injured in an Israeli strike on a “humanitarian zone” for displaced Palestinians in the southern Gaza Strip.

Also, civil defense teams retrieved the bodies of 21 Palestinians from the rubble on Sunday following Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

A medical source said six victims were recovered following an Israeli strike in the southern city of Rafah and their bodies were transferred to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.

Three more bodies were pulled from under the rubble west of Gaza City, the Civil Defense Agency said in a statement.

Ten more victims were retrieved by civil defense teams in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood southwest of Gaza City, medical sources said.

Residents also recovered the bodies of two people following an Israeli airstrike near the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, according to witnesses.

At least 10 Palestinians were killed and 27 others were injured on Sunday in an Israeli attack on central Gaza.

In a statement, the Gaza Civil Defense Agency said: “We recovered seven martyrs and transported seven wounded from a residential house for the Youssef family that was targeted by the Israeli occupation in the Abu Skander area in Sheikh Radwan, north of Gaza City.”

“We also recovered three martyrs and transported 20 wounded from a residential tower for the Al-Haddad family in the Shabiyah area in central Gaza City after it was targeted by Israeli warplanes,” it added.

This evening, a number of civilians were killed and others injured as Israeli occupation forces carried out airstrikes on several areas in the Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that an Israeli drone targeted civilians in the Bir Abu Salah area of the Zawaida town, central Gaza, resulting in the killing of one civilian and injuries to others.

Additionally, one civilian was killed and several others injured following an Israeli bombardment of the Mashrua area east of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip.

Israeli aircraft also targeted homes of civilians north of the Nusseirat Camp, resulting in casualties and injuries.

Furthermore, Israeli warplanes bombed a house in the town of Bani Suhaila east of Khan Younis, south of the Strip. Simultaneously, a drone fired live ammunition at civilians east of the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.

Earlier today, at least 15 civilians, mostly children and women, were killed and dozens injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting the UNRWA-run Abu Araban school in the Nusseirat refugee camp, which houses a large number of displaced persons, reported Wafa News Agency.
