Gaza: 112 Palestinians killed, 165 injured by Israeli bombing in past 24 hours

London, (The Muslim News): Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that 112 Palestinians were killed and 165 injured by Israeli indiscriminate bombing during the past 24 hours in Gaza.  This brings to total Palestinians killed by Israeli forces according to Gaza Health Ministry to 27,238, including 11,500 children, 8,000 women and 66,452 injured. 8,000 ciGazavilians are missing, trapped under rubble and in the streets, as Israeli forces are blocking access of ambulance crews and civil defense teams attempting to reach them.

Palestinian Red Crescent Society said Israeli army killed 43 displaced Palestinians who were sheltering in iwere killed by Israel at PRCS’s headquarters in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

PRCS headquarters and its adjacent Al-Amal Hospital have come under direct Israeli fire and siege that isolated those facilities for the past 12 days and prevented movement to and from them, it said.

The Red Crescent said among those killed were three of its staff members inside the headquarters.

PRCS held Israel fully responsible for the lives of staff, more than 100 patients and injured people and over 7,000 displaced people trapped inside the headquarters and the hospital.

“The society reiterates its appeal to the international community and UN agencies to immediately act to provide protection to our staff in Khan Younis, and to compel Israel to respect the sign of the Red Crescent,” it said.

Since the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued provisional measures against Israel in the Gaza Strip, where the army has forcibly deprived the people of food and water, Israel has killed 1,048 Palestinians and injured 1,800 others.

Reports suggest more than two dozen people have been killed in three separate air raids in Deir el-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, and in Rafah, the southernmost city in the besieged territory, reported Al Jazeera.

About 1.9 million of Gaza’s 2.3 million people are crammed into Rafah, near the border with Egypt, camping out in residential buildings or on the streets without basic infrastructure.

Displaced Palestinians are bracing for the possibility of the Israeli army carrying out an offensive on their last refuge after Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on Thursday said the military would turn to the area to “complete the mission”.

Israel previously described Rafah as a “safe zone” and ordered Palestinians to move there.

Israel started shelling the eastern part of Rafah with heavy artillery fire before finishing up at midnight with massive air strikes on different parts of the city.

These are densely populated residential areas with hundreds of thousands of war-displaced people sheltering there. A building that was hit in eastern Rafah was a home full of displaced Palestinians.

Thirteen people have been killed and 10 others injured and are seeking treatment at the Najjar Hospital in Rafah.

The other air attack hit a residential home in the Janina district in central Rafah – an area that has been repeatedly targeted. A total of 15 people have been killed there.

Dozens of civilians today were killed and others were wounded in Israeli airstrikes that targeted two inhabited homes in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. reported Wafa news agency.

Israeli warplanes shelled a house housing dozens of displaced people east of Rafah, belonging to the Hijazi family, resulting in the killing of at least 11 people and causing multiple causalities.

Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets carried out intense airstrikes targeting a house belonging to the Al-Hams family, resulting in the killing of two persons and the injury of several others.

More than two dozen people have been reportedly killed in three separate air raids in Deir el-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, and in Rafah, the southernmost city in the besieged territory.

According to Israeli authorities,  1,139 Israelis were killed in southern Israel by Hamas on 7 October. 136 Israelis and foreign nationals are being held captive by Hamas in Gaza, according to Israel officials.
