LONDON, (The Muslim News): At least six Palestinians were killed and several others, including children, were injured in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, as Israeli forces and illegal Israeli settlers carried out further raids and attacks in the occupied West Bank. The US Senate also rejected a motion seeking to advance a resolution on human rights conditions in Israel and the occupied West Bank.
The attacks in Gaza were reported as violations of the ceasefire that took effect in October 2025.
Two Palestinians were killed and eight others injured when an Israeli drone struck displaced people at Halawa camp, east of Jabalia in northern Gaza, according to a medical source. The wounded were taken to field hospitals at Al-Shifa and Al-Saraya.
Another Palestinian was killed and others injured when an Israeli drone struck the roof of a house on Al-Nafaq Street in the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood east of Gaza City.
Earlier, two Palestinians were killed and several others, including children, were injured when an Israeli airstrike hit an apartment in the Al-Nasr neighbourhood west of Gaza City. The bodies and wounded were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital.
Local sources identified the two men killed as Izz al-Din al-Beik and Muhannad Abu Foul. Witnesses said a suicide drone hovered over the area before striking the apartment, causing a fire and destroying the building.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz said in a joint statement that al-Beik was a commander of Hamas’ northern Gaza brigade. There was no immediate response to the Israeli claim.
In central Gaza, a Palestinian was killed by Israeli army gunfire on Salah al-Din Street east of Deir al-Balah, according to a medical source. Another Palestinian was seriously injured in an Israeli strike targeting a gathering near Al-Fakhoura Clinic in Jabalia refugee camp.
Separately, Rania Saada died from wounds sustained several days earlier when Israeli forces opened fire on tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in Al-Mawasi, Rafah.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said Tuesday that Israeli violations of the ceasefire had killed 1,422 Palestinians and injured 4,996 others. It also reported that 74,023 Palestinians had been killed and 175,111 injured in Gaza since October 2023.
West Bank raids and Israeli settler attacks
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces shot and wounded a Palestinian and detained several others during raids, according to Palestinian official media.
Wafa reported that an Israeli special force shot a young Palestinian in the leg during a raid on a farm in Sinjil, north of Ramallah, before detaining him.
Israeli forces also raided Al-Far’a refugee camp south of Tubas, detaining two Palestinians, while troops in Kafr ad-Dik, west of Salfit, fired stun grenades towards homes and briefly detained two Palestinians, Palestine TV reported.
Israeli forces also raided Dheisheh refugee camp near Bethlehem and searched a home. In Hebron, a Palestinian was detained and beaten at a military checkpoint near Al-Arroub refugee camp, while a Palestinian man and his sister were detained in the city’s Old City, Wafa reported.
In Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, troops seized a tractor and private vehicle in Khirbet Jinba, according to Wafa.
Separately, Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian communities in Jalud, Qaryut and Al-Mughayyir, setting fire to homes and vehicles and assaulting an elderly woman, according to local sources.
In Jalud, south of Nablus, settlers attacked the Al-Tubasi family shortly after it returned home following a court ruling allowing it to return after nearly two months of displacement.
Homeowner Mahmoud Al-Tubasi said Israeli forces escorted the family to the property but settlers attacked five to 10 minutes after their arrival. He said about 20 settlers initially gathered outside before their number grew to more than 150.
According to Al-Tubasi, Israeli soldiers used tear gas and pepper spray to hold the settlers back but later forced the family to leave again. His son, Wael, said the property had been heavily damaged, including its doors, tiles and electricity and water networks.
Local sources also reported that two homes in Jalud were attacked and set on fire.
In Qaryut, south of Nablus, settlers broke into a home and assaulted an elderly Palestinian woman, according to local sources.
In Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, settlers attacked Palestinian homes and property while Israeli forces raided the village and detained a young man. Witnesses said three homes were targeted and another home belonging to a Palestinian detainee was set on fire. Six vehicles were also torched.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said settlers carried out 628 attacks across the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem in August, while Israeli forces and settlers together carried out 2,030 attacks.
Palestinian figures say 1,206 Palestinians have been killed, around 13,350 injured and more than 24,600 detained in the West Bank since October 2023.
US Senate rejects West Bank rights resolution
In Washington, the US Senate rejected a 47-51 motion to discharge S. Res. 852 from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The resolution, introduced by Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen, concerns human rights conditions in Israel and the occupied West Bank.
The resolution would have required the State Department to provide Congress with information on human rights conditions in the West Bank, including circumstances surrounding the deaths and detention of US citizens.
Before the vote, Van Hollen said the measure sought information on violence and alleged human rights abuses in the West Bank, including cases involving US citizens.
He said nine US citizens had been killed in the West Bank over four years by what he described as violent Israeli settlers or Israeli security forces, and questioned whether the US government had done enough to ensure accountability.
US sanctions Iranian procurement network
Separately, the US Treasury Department sanctioned 10 individuals and entities in several jurisdictions over what it described as the procurement of weapons and components for Iran’s Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL).
Treasury claimed MODAFL is responsible for weapons research, production and acquisition for Iran’s armed forces and oversees organisations involved in ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle development.
Among those sanctioned was Seyyed Asghar Alizadeh Tabatabai, whom Treasury described as a MODAFL representative in Beijing involved in procuring finished weapons systems and dual-use components in China on Iran’s behalf.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the US would continue to identify and isolate what the department described as Iran’s enablers.
Yemen army reports 414 attacks
In Yemen, the army said late Tuesday that its forces had carried out 414 attacks against Ansar Allah targets across multiple fronts during the previous 24 hours. Military spokesman Majed al-Nuzaili said the operations targeted Ansar Allah reinforcements and military capabilities, according to the official Saba news agency. He said the attacks caused losses among fighters and damaged military equipment but gave no figures. There was no immediate response from Ansar Allah to the army’s claims.
