LEBANON
Three people were killed and five others injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a car in southern Lebanon on Saturday, in another violation of the ceasefire agreement, which went into effect on Nov. 27 of last year.
The Lebanese Civil Defense said in a statement that the Israeli strike hit a car in Jarjouaa village in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon.
A fourth Lebanese person was killed, a woman and several others were wounded by Israeli army fire in southern Lebanon on Sunday, local media said.
According to the state news agency NNA, Israeli forces opened fire towards residents trying to return to their areas in Houla town, causing the casualties.
Three civilians were also detained by the Israeli army, the broadcaster said.
The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed that two paramedics were abducted by Israeli forces in Houla, marking the first time Israel had kidnapped paramedics since October 2023.
A ministry statement said the two paramedics were affiliated with the Islamic Scout Association, a group linked to the Amal Movement, an ally of Hezbollah.
Since the agreement came into effect, Israel has committed 936 violations in Lebanon, resulting in 76 deaths and 270 injuries, according to Anadolu’s tally based on official Lebanese data.
The Lebanese National News Agency has additional details on the bombings. It said two people were killed in the attack on a car on the Jarjouh road in Iqlim al-Tuffah and five others, including two children, were wounded.
It said another person was killed in the town of Ain Qana after a building collapsed following the attack.
GAZA
Three Palestinians were killed and several others injured this morning in an airstrike carried out by an Israeli drone targeting a gathering of civilians east of Rafah, southern Gaza.
Of note, the death toll in Gaza has risen to 48,264, the majority being women and children, since the Israeli war began in October 2023, according to local health authorities.
According to the same sources, the number of injuries has also climbed to 111,688. Meantime, many victims remain trapped under the rubble, with emergency and civil defense teams unable to reach them.
Palestinian medics and rescue teams retrieved 25 more bodies from rubble in the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours, pushing the overall death toll from Israel’s war since October 2023 to 48,264, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.
A ministry statement said that 12 injured people were also admitted to hospitals in the past 48 hours, bringing the number of the injured in the Israeli onslaught to 111,688.
“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads, with rescuers unable to reach them,” the ministry said.
A ceasefire in Gaza took effect on January 19, but casualties have continued to be reported across various parts of the region due to violations of the ceasefire by the Israeli occupation.
Meanwhile, Arab League on Saturday described the pace of aid entering the Gaza Strip as “unacceptable both humanely and morally,” calling on the international community to pressure Israel to allow the aid in the enclave.
During a press conference at the Rafah border crossing from the Egyptian side, Hossam Zaki, the assistant secretary-general of the Arab League, stated that “the pace at which aid is entering the Gaza Strip is not acceptable humanely and morally,” according to the Egyptian Al-Qahera News Channel.
Zaki also called on the international community to pressure Israel to allow the aid to enter.
Displaced Palestinians in Gaza continue to wait for Israel to allow in mobile homes, tents and heavy machinery after Hamas and Israel completed a sixth captive-prisoner exchange.
Hamas has repeatedly complained about Israel’s obstruction of aid entering the Gaza Strip, particularly aid related to shelter.
The drone strike injured two Palestinians as it targeted a bulldozer working to remove the debris of buildings that were damaged by Israel’s onslaught in al-Mughraqa town, medical sources told Anadolu.
This incident occurred on the same day that the Palestinian groups handed over three Israeli captives to the International Committee of the Red Cross in eastern Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.
The Israeli military has released a statement in which it says “several armed individuals” had moved towards Israeli military troops in the south of the Gaza Strip and were subsequently struck by the Israeli airforce. “Hits were identified”, it said.
The statement came shortly after Gaza’s Ministry of Interior and National Security said an Israeli attack in the south of the Gaza Strip killed two police officers and seriously injured another.
Gaza’s Interior Ministry says two police officers have been killed and a third seriously injured in an Israeli attack while securing aid supplies in Rafah in southern Gaza.
The northern Gaza Strip suffers from the lack of sufficient quantities of diesel and rubble removal machinery.
There is no clean drinking water in the northern Gaza Strip and sewage is spreading among the people.
Municipalities cannot manage people’s lives alone and we need international support.
No tents, mobile homes or rubble-clearing vehicles entered the northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli media reported, citing the ministry, that the shipment of MK-84 heavy munitions, which are 2,000-pound (900kg) aircraft bombs, was carried to airbases by trucks.
In late January, US President Donald Trump announced that he instructed the military to release a hold imposed by his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden, on the supply of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel.
Last May, Biden paused the shipment of the bombs in question over the situation in Gaza.
WEST BANK
Israeli occupation forces bulldozed several roads in the Dhannaba neighborhood, east of Tulkarm, on Sunday, as their military assault on the city and its refugee camp continued for the 21st consecutive day.
Furthermore, according to local sources, Israeli bulldozers destroyed large sections of roads in the neighborhood, particularly around the Martyrs Cemetery and near the Old Mosque. The demolition also included the Martyrs Memorial, severely disrupting the movement of residents and vehicles while causing extensive damage to the area’s infrastructure.
In addition to this, the sources reported that the occupation forces also demolished essential infrastructure in the Al-Murabba’a quarter of Tulkarm refugee camp. They further demolished and bulldozed at least three houses in Nour Shams refugee camp, exacerbating the suffering of local residents.
The military sent in additional reinforcements into Tulkarem and set up a checkpoint on the road that connects the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps.
The Wafa news agency, citing the Palestinian Red Crescent, said the soldiers assaulted one person who had to be transferred to the hospital for treatment.
The Israeli military is also continuing to seize homes in the city after forcibly displacing Palestinians from them, the agency reported, adding that at least 15,000 people have already been displaced from the two camps.
Meanwhile, further Israeli military reinforcements, including armored vehicles, fuel tankers, and infantry soldiers, were deployed to the city and its refugee camps. Soldiers raided homes, turning them into military outposts after forcing families to leave.
At the same time, Israeli forces set up multiple roadblocks across different parts of the city. Notably, they erected barriers on Nablus Street, which connects Tulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps. Vehicles were stopped, searched, and passengers were subjected to identity checks, further tightening restrictions on movement.
Israeli occupation forces stormed the towns of Issawiya and Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, on Sunday evening, and fired tear gas canisters at citizens’ homes, causing a number of them to suffocate.
Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation army raided a house in the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, and seized the phones of a number of people and ransacked their property.

Israeli occupation forces have continued to block the entrance to Al-Manshiyya village, located south of Bethlehem, for the sixth consecutive day, according to local sources.
The closure affects the sole road connecting the southern countryside of the province with the city of Bethlehem.
Since the 19th of last month, Israeli forces have been imposing arbitrary measures at military checkpoints near most entrances and exits of the governorates in the West Bank.
They have also closed the entrances to villages and towns, fueling tensions in preparation for further annexation.
