At least 37 Palestinians are killed—including 25 in the enclave’s north—as Israel officially notifies the United Nations of its decision to cut ties with its agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA. At least 15 people were killed when Israeli warplanes struck two houses in the northern Gaza city of Beit Lahia on Monday evening, informed Palestinian sources and eyewitnesses said.
“Several people are still trapped under rubble after the attacks,” one eyewitness told Anadolu. Seven Palestinians, including at least two children, were killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Monday, a medical source said.
Three civilians, including a child, were killed and others were injured on Monday evening in an Israeli bombing of Gaza City. According to medical and local sources, two civilians were killed in an Israeli drone attack targeting civilians near the al-Shati (Beach) camp west of Gaza City, while a child was killed and others were injured by the occupation forces’ fire north of Gaza City. Several civilians were also shot in a quadcopter drone attack targeting a school in the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood of Gaza City. The Israeli forces also bombed the vicinity of the Sheikh Radwan clinic.
A woman and her two children lost their lives when Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes in the northern city of Beit Lahia, the source said. Three people of the same family were also killed when fighter jets hit a home in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, the source added. Another Palestinian was killed and several people were injured in a drone strike on a home in the same camp. A husband, his wife, and two children were also injured in another drone strike on their home in the southern city of Khan Younis, witnesses said.
Local sources reported that the Israeli warplanes bombed two homes belonging to the Foura and Aman families in the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Beit Lahia project, north of the Strip, which led to the killing of several people. A child was killed in the Baptist Hospital after his health deteriorated following his evacuation from Kamal Adwan Hospital. Meanwhile, another civilian was also killed and others were injured in an occupation bombing that targeted the Saftawi area, north of Gaza City. Three civilians were killed in an Israeli drone bombing of two homes belonging to the Al-Nabahin and Qaddoha families, north of Al-Nuseirat camp, central Gaza Strip.
Several Palestinians were injured in an Israeli artillery bombing that targeted the vicinity of Karameesh Park, north of Al-Nuseirat, and another after a drone dropped a bomb on it. In a related context, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its crews evacuated 30 wounded and sick people and 33 companions from Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City last night, in cooperation and coordination with the World Health Organisation. It added that 14 wounded and sick people were evacuated from Al-Shifa Hospital to Nasser Medical Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, at least eight more Israeli soldiers were injured in clashes in the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon in the last 24 hours, the military said on Monday. LEBANON
Israeli forces bombed indiscriminately across Lebanon, killing at least 16 people and injuring 90 others on Sunday in Lebanon, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. A ministry statement reported on Monday that the new fatalities raised the total number of people killed in Israeli attacks in the country since October 2023 to 3,002, with 13,492 others injured.
Israel has rejected all proposals for a cease-fire in Lebanon, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Monday. “At a time when nations advocating for humanity and human rights should be exerting maximum pressure on Israel to cease its aggression, their inaction is deeply concerning,” Mikati said in a statement. He said Israel has turned down all cease-fire proposals, although the Lebanese government has reiterated its commitment to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701. “We renew our call to pressure Israel to stop its aggression in preparation for examining the means to implement Resolution 1701 literally and as it was approved, without any additions or interpretations,” he added.
The Israeli army said Monday that some 60 rockets were fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon into northern Israel. A military statement said that 30 rockets were launched from Lebanese territory into Upper Galilee, with some intercepted while others impacted open areas. The army said it detected the launch of 30 other rockets towards Western Galilee. No injuries or damage were reported in the rocket fire. According to Israeli media, rocket sirens sounded in several areas in northern Israel, including the cities of Acre, Nahariya, Safed, and Israeli settlements close to the Lebanese border. Earlier, the Israeli army said that its fighter jets had intercepted four combat drones fired from Lebanon and the east, in reference to Iraq but without providing any further details.
**WEST BANK**
Illegal Israeli settlers attacked the Palestinian village of Burqa in the central West Bank on Monday and burnt olive fields, according to witnesses. It came hours after some 20 Palestinian vehicles were burnt in a settler attack early Monday near Al-Bireh city in the central West Bank. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the settler attacks as “an extension of the (Israeli) genocide and expulsion taking place against Palestinians in Gaza.”
According to Palestinian figures, illegal Israeli settlers carried out some 1,490 attacks on Palestinians, lands, and properties last month across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Data from the Israeli anti-settlement group Peace Now shows that there are half a million illegal settlers in 146 settlements and 224 outposts in the West Bank.
