KARBALA, (AA): Hundreds of angry demonstrators stormed a government building in the Shia-dominated Iraqi province of Karbala on Sunday.
“The protesters stormed the administrative building of al-Hindiyyah district and destroyed the windows of the building because the mayor refused to resign from his position,” Zahra Matar, a member of the Karbala provincial council told Anadolu Agency.
Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis took to the streets in 11 provinces on Friday to protest rising unemployment, corruption and the absence of services.
