At least 47 Lebanese citizens were killed and 22 more injured today as Israeli airstrikes continued to target areas across Lebanon.
Baalbek-Hermel Gov. Bachir Khodr wrote on X that the district experienced a “very violent day.”
Efforts to remove rubble are ongoing in search of the missing, he added.
The latest wave of attacks has caused widespread devastation to buildings, infrastructure, and homes.The current toll since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the country in October 2023 now stands at 3,583 dead and 15,244 injured, according to health officials.
According to local sources and medical teams, the airstrikes hit multiple towns across the country, including Nabha, Amchaki, Arab Salim, Makneh, Yunin, Flawiye, Khoush Al-Rafiqah, Brital, Tyr Debba, and Chaaitiyeh.
The attacks also extended to the southern district of Beirut, where neighborhoods such as Chiyah, Ghobeiri, Haret Hreik, Hadath, Lailaki, and Mishrefeh were targeted.
Further bombardment affected cities like Tyre and Nabatieh, along with several towns in the south and Beqaa region, including Hanin, Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, Zawtar al-Gharbiyeh, Beit Shama, Al-Khiam, Al-Mansouri, Nahle, Seffari, Jdeideh Marjeyoun, Burj al-Shamali, Zawtar al-Sharqiyeh, Al-Maashouq, Shiyyat, Barish, Balat, Beit Mashik, Boudai, Sawaniyeh, Sreen, Shabriha, and Yanouh.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that yesterday, Wednesday, Israeli airstrikes led to the murder of 25 people and left at least 21 others wounded.
Israeli airstrikes killed at least 27 people and injured 10 on Thursday in brutal attacks on six towns in the Baalbek district of eastern Lebanon, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported.
Warplanes targeted Nabha, killing eight, and Makneh, where six fatalities were reported. In Flawiye, four were killed and three injured, according to a statement by the ministry.
Two additional strikes killed two people and injured three in Brital, while another in the town of Aamachki left two dead and as many wounded.
Lebanon’s official news agency, NNA, said an airstrike on Souaneh killed one person and injured two, while another attack on Younine claimed four lives.
Israeli warplanes and artillery weapons launched a string of night-time raids on Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, according to the country’s National News Agency (NNA).
The village of Ainata saw at least 10 artillery shells falling from Israeli positions while the city of Bint Jbeil was hit with at least six shells. The towns of Hanine and Kounin were targeted as well.
NNA reported that Israeli jets dropped bombs on the town of Yahmar al-Shaqif and the village of Arnoun as well. There are no reports on potential casualties yet.
The escalation comes hours after US envoy Amos Hochstein left Beirut for Tel Aviv after negotiations on an American proposal for a cease-fire between Israel and the Lebanese resistance group.
Despite the diplomatic efforts, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would conduct the negotiations “under fire.”

In the Tyre district, the Health Ministry announced in a statement that three people were killed and five others injured in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Chaaitiyeh.
In other airstrikes on the same district, one person was killed and two others were injured in the town of Tayr Debba, while three people were injured in the town of Chabriha.
In the Sidon district, the Lebanese news agency reported that one person was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Ansariyeh.

Israeli forces pound northern Gaza, killing 88 Palestinians and injured 176 in two waves of attacks on Beit Lahiya and the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood of Gaza City.
Israel’s attacks in Gaza has killed at least 44,056 Palestinians and wounded 104,286 since October 7, 2023.
A series of Israeli airstrikes on al-Mawasi area in the southern Gaza Strip Thursday evening killed several Palestinian civilians and injured others, according to local sources.
They said that Israeli fighter jets targeted the area, which houses displaced people, claiming the lives of a number of people.
They added that the fighter jets carried an airstrike targeting the western area of the Mashrou’ Beit Lahia in the northern Strip, at a time when the occupation soldiers blew up several residential buildings in Jabalia refugee camp.
Four civilians were killed and others were injured on Thursday as a result of the occupation’s warplanes bombing the city of Khan Yunis.
Medical sources reported that the Israeli forces targeted a group of Palestinians in the Qaa al-Qurain area southeast of Khan Yunis, which led to the killing of four people and the injury of others.
The Israeli army killed eight more Palestinians, including children, on Thursday amid its deadly onslaught in the northern Gaza Strip, medics said.
An Israeli drone shelled a group of civilians in the northern town of Beit Lahia, killing at least four people, a medical source said.
Another drone dropped several bombs in the courtyard of Al-Awda Hospital in the town, the hospital said, without providing details about any injuries.
Warplanes also carried out an airstrike in the Fadous neighborhood in northern Beit Lahia, but no information was yet available about casualties.
In Gaza City, one Palestinian was killed in Israeli shelling in the eastern part of the city, another medical source said.
Two brothers were killed in an airstrike in the Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City and a third in another attack in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, he added.
An airstrike was also reported in the Al Zaitoun neighborhood in Gaza City. No reports have yet emerged about casualties.
