47 Palestinians killed, 108 injured in Gaza by Israeli army & army committed 62 violations of the cease-fire agreement with Lebanon

GAZA

Gaza’s Health Ministry says Israel has killed at least 47, including two young children in al-Mawasi in the southern Strip, and wounded 108 Palestinians in the last 24 hours.

Local health authorities confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 7, 2023 has risen to 44,429 reported fatalities, with an additional 105,250 injuries.

WAFA correspondent reported, quoting medical sources, that at least 10 Palestinians were killed and several others were injured, after the Israeli warplanes targeted a house in the Beit Lahia project area.

The Israeli army also blew up residential buildings near Awad Tower, east of Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, while the artillery bombed the Saftawi area, north of Gaza City.

Two Palestinians were killed and many others were injured on Sunday afternoon as a result of an Israeli bombardment that targeted a motorcycle on Salah al-Din Street near Sheikh Nasser neighborhood east of Khan Yunis city in the southern Gaza Strip, and in a similar Israeli bombardment that targeted a group of civilians near the Lababidi intersection on al-Nasr Street west of Gaza City.

WAFA correspondent reported the killing of 12 people whose bodies were transferred to Nasser Medical Complex and Gaza European Hospital in Khan Yunis city since dawn today until now.

Additionally, the Israeli air force launched a raid on the home of Nasr family in Jabalia Al-Nazla, near the Qutaiba Mosque, north of Gaza City, which resulted in the injury of a number of citizens.

Three Palestinians were also killed and others were injured as a result of an Israeli drone strike on Al-Wahda Street near the Thai Restaurant west of Gaza City.

In Al-Shati Camp, an Israeli reconnaissance missile targeted citizens in the vicinity of Hamid Street, resulting in the killing of one person and the injury of others.

At least 21 people, including three children, were killed in Israeli attacks across the war-torn Gaza Strip on Sunday, according to medics.

Yet another Palestinian journalist was killed in an Israeli attack in the Gaza Strip, taking the overall death toll since last year to 192, local authorities said on Sunday.

Gaza’s government media office identified the new victim as Maysara Ahmed Salah from the local Quds News Network, without providing any details about the circumstances of her death.

The media office appealed to the international community and press organizations “to deter the (Israeli) occupation and prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes” against Palestinian journalists.

A medical source told Anadolu that four Palestinians were killed in Israeli shelling targeting a group of civilians in the Shaboura refugee camp in the southern city of Rafah.

Two children lost their lives and several people were injured when an Israeli helicopter hit a tent sheltering displaced families in Al-Mawasi in Khan Younis, the same source said.

Four more people, including a child, were killed and five others injured in an airstrike in Jouret Allout in the same city.

In central Gaza, one Palestinian was killed in an Israeli strike on a house in the Al-Mufti area, north of the Nuseirat refugee camp, paramedics said.

Three more people were also killed and three others injured in Israeli bombardment in the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City, a medical source said.

“Five citizens were martyred and eight others were injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house near the Al-Nasra Tower, north of the Al-Nuseirat Refugee Camp,” the Al-Awda Hospital said in a statement.

Witnesses told Anadolu that the house sheltering displaced people was targeted by a warplane. Medical teams and civil defense workers are searching for the missing under the rubble, they said.

Medical sources told Anadolu that three Palestinians were killed and three injured when an Israeli drone targeted a school in Jabalia in northern Gaza.

In another attack, three Palestinians were killed and 12 were injured in an airstrike on a house in the Nasser neighborhood of Gaza City, paramedics told Anadolu.

One more Israeli soldier was killed and two others were seriously injured during battles in the Gaza Strip, the military said Saturday.

The army stated in a press release that Sgt. Zamir Burke, 20, was killed in a battle in northern Gaza, adding that another soldier was seriously injured in the same battle.

In another incident, the military confirmed that a soldier was seriously injured during a clash with Palestinian fighters in southern Gaza.

The army further mentioned that a soldier was “seriously wounded during an operational military activity in the north of the country (on the Lebanese border),” without providing further details.

With the death of the soldier in northern Gaza, the death toll of Israeli troops since the beginning of its genocidal war on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, has reached 807, according to army data.

According to the same data, 5,442 Israeli officers and soldiers have been injured since the start of the war, including 796 with serious injuries.

UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said on Sunday that more than 415,000 displaced individuals in Gaza are currently taking refuge in its school buildings.

In a statement shared on social media, UNRWA posted the testimony of Aisha, one of the many Gazan women taking shelter in a school.

Expressing her exhaustion, Aisha said: “This place is meant for education, not for living.”

“We suffer immensely under the health conditions we are experiencing, the economic conditions, the struggle to secure food and drink — there is no support, no assistance,” she added.

“Hundreds of thousands more are trying to survive in even worse conditions in makeshift shelters,” the UN agency said.

WEST BANK

Four Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Sunday in the West Bank city of Jenin, a local official said.

Jenin Governor Kamel Abu Al Rub told Anadolu that the four were killed in a strike targeting a vehicle in the village of Sir, south of the city.

He said that the bodies of the four youths had been seized by the Israeli army, providing no details about their identities.

Witnesses said plumes of smoke were rising from the village about the strike.

An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed in an aircraft struck what he called “armed operatives” in the Jenin area.

Israel’s Army Radio reported that the airstrike targeted four Palestinian fighters who had been under surveillance by security forces for some time.

Meanwhile, Israeli illegal settlers have attacked the town of Umm Safa, north of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, firing live bullets at Palestinians.

Local council head Marwan Sabah told the Palestinian news agency Wafa that the settlers assaulted civilians at the town’s western entrance while the council was laying a water line in the village.

Sabah added that the Israeli army stormed the town to protect the settlers and fired tear gas at residents, leading some of them to suffer from tear gas inhalation.

LEBANON

The Israeli army on Saturday committed 24 violations of the cease-fire agreement with Lebanon, bringing the number of violations since the agreement began on Wednesday to 62, according to a tally compiled through Israeli army announcements and news sources, including Lebanon’s National News Agency.

According to various news reports, Saturday’s violations were concentrated in the districts of Marjayoun and Bint Jbeil in the Nabatieh Governorate, the districts of Tyre and Sidon in the South Governorate, and the Baalbek district in the Baalbek-Hermel Governorate of eastern Lebanon.

These violations led to the deaths of two people and injuries to 10 others.

Continuing violation of the cease-fire agreement, Israeli forces carried out three airstrikes on towns in southern Lebanon, killing two people and injuring six others on Saturday.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that an Israeli drone carried out an attack on the town of Rab El Thalathine in the Marjayoun district of the Nabatieh governorate, killing two people and injuring two others.

An Israeli drone also struck a car in the town of Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district of the South governorate, injuring three people, including a child, according to the initial toll from the Ministry of Health, reported the agency.

It added that Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes on the Tibnah area in the town of Beisariyah in the Sidon district of the South governorate, injuring one person, according to the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, thousands of people attended a memorial for Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, more than two months after the Hezbollah [Hizbullah] leader was assassinated in an Israeli attack.

Lebanese media reported a massive explosion in the town of Khiam in southern Lebanon on Sunday, citing a new Israeli violation of a cease-fire deal with Beirut.

The state news agency NNA attributed the explosion to the demolition of some homes and buildings by Israeli forces in the town.

Explosions were also heard on the outskirts of the Yaroun and Maroun areas in the Tyre district in southern Lebanon.

No further details were provided.

In the Marjayoun district, an Israeli drone launched an attack on the town of Rab El Thalathine, resulting in two deaths and two injuries, according to the Lebanese news agency. There was also artillery shelling on the town of Rab El Thalathine and the Taybeh Project, a water pumping station located in the town of Taybeh.

Israeli forces also attacked the vicinity of the towns of Bani Haiyyan and Markaba.

In the city of Marjayoun, the Israeli army fired an artillery shell and targeted several neighborhoods of the city with machine gunfire, preventing residents from checking on their homes and properties.

In the Bint Jbeil district, Israeli forces carried out incursions in the town of Aytaroun, where movements of Israeli vehicles and soldiers were observed in some areas of the town, with soldiers setting fire to a car.

An Israeli Merkava tank also crushed several cars and surrounded some families in the same town, before the International Committee of the Red Cross intervened to evacuate them.

In Aytaroun, Israeli soldiers raised barricades on several roads in the area of Marj al-Abd and destroyed roads in the al-Mtayt area.

In the town of Chaqra, residents reported an Israeli airstrike at dawn on the outskirts of the town, and the same area was subjected to intermittent artillery shelling.

In the city of Bint Jbeil, Israeli soldiers stationed at the outskirts of the town of Maroun al-Ras opened machine gunfire at the Bint Jbeil central government building, while Lebanese gendarmerie were inspecting the damages.

Israeli soldiers stationed at the same location also fired at city of Bint Jbeil, preventing residents from returning to the city.

In the Tyre district, an Israeli drone struck a car in the town of Majdal Zoun, injuring three people, including a child, according to the Ministry of Health.

In the Sidon district, Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes on the Tibneh area in the town of Beisariyah, injuring one person, according to the Ministry of Health.

In the Baalbek district, Israeli drones flew at low altitude over the city of Baalbek, the center of the district, and neighboring towns.

The Israeli army, meanwhile, claimed to have attacked four targets in southern and central Lebanon on the same day, alleging they posed a “threat” to Israel.

It mentioned that an Israeli warplane struck a vehicle in an undisclosed area in southern Lebanon, claiming that “militants were transporting military equipment.”

The army also stated that one of its units attacked a number of individuals after they reached a building in an undisclosed area in southern Lebanon, alleging that the force “found weapons” after searching the location.

The Israeli army further claimed that one of its warplanes also bombed what it called “rocket platforms in a Hezbollah site in the Sidon district” of southern Lebanon.

Additionally, it claimed that one of its drones attacked a military vehicle in an undisclosed location deep in Lebanon, alleging that it “was working within Hezbollah’s missile production infrastructure.”

An Israeli drone flew over Beirut and its southern suburbs late Saturday, marking the first such incident since the cease-fire, the official Lebanese National News Agency reported.

The Israeli army fired three artillery shells at the town of Al-Khiam in southern Lebanon, according to the agency.

Since the early hours of Wednesday, a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Lebanon has been in effect, halting mutual bombardment that began on Oct. 8, 2023.

Under the terms of the cease-fire, Israel will withdraw its forces south of the Blue Line de facto border in a phased manner, while the Lebanese army will deploy its forces in southern Lebanon within 60 days.

Implementation of the agreement is to be overseen by the US and France, but details on enforcement mechanisms remain unclear.

Israel carried out the attacks despite the ongoing Israel-Lebanon cease-fire which began Wednesday and ended over 14 months of fighting between the Israeli army and Hezbollah.

Under the cease-fire terms, Israel is to withdraw its forces south of the Blue Line, the de facto border, in a phased manner, while the Lebanese army is tasked with deploying its forces in southern Lebanon within 60 days.

Yemen

Yemen’s Houthi [Ansarallah] group claimed a ballistic missile attack Sunday on a “vital target” in central Israel.

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree said that his group targeted a vital target in central Israel with a hypersonic ballistic missile, saying the attack “successfully hit its target.”

He, however, did not provide any details about the nature of the target.

Saree vowed more missile and drone attacks until Israel’s ongoing onslaught on Gaza is halted and siege lifted.

The Israeli public broadcaster KAN earlier reported that a missile launched from Yemen had been intercepted by air defenses.

According to the same source, four Israelis were injured while rushing to shelters after air-raid sirens sounded in central Israel.

Four Israelis sustained minor injuries on Sunday while rushing to bomb shelters after a missile was launched from Yemen toward central Israel.

The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation stated that the army intercepted the missile before it reached Israeli airspace.

“Four individuals suffered minor injuries while heading to shelters as sirens sounded in central Israel,” it added.

In a statement, the Israeli army confirmed that alarms went off in several areas in central Israel due to the missile, which was intercepted before breaching Israeli airspace.
