“Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

GAZA

At least four Palestinians were killed on Monday as Israeli warplanes mounted new airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on the first anniversary of a brutal war on the enclave, according to medical sources.

Three people lost their lives and several others were injured when fighter jets hit several houses in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, a medical source told Anadolu.

Seven more Gazans were wounded in Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, the source said.

Israeli warplanes also bombed a tent encampment for displaced people near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the central city of Deir al-Balah, injuring four people, another medical source said.

Another airstrike targeted a home in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City, killing one person and injuring several people, including children, a medic said.

Several people were also reported injured in an airstrike in northern Gaza City, according to witnesses.

At least nine Palestinian children were among 17 people killed after the Israeli military ordered civilians to immediately flee northern Gaza’s Jabalia refugee camp and began heavy bombardment.

Israeli forces struck the Jabalia refugee camp where they targeted a group of Palestinians. At least eight Palestinians were killed.

Among them is the brother of Al Jazeera’s cameraman Ibrahim, whose family have been separated. Some of them stayed in the north, while he evacuated to the south with other family members. They survived an Israeli attack on Jabalia in November 2023 and now his brother was killed today.

This is one of the stories of Palestinian families who have been enduring 365 days of Israel’s war.

Another ground invasion is happening in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, especially Jabalia and Beit Lahiya. There have also been new evacuation orders in southern Khan Younis.

A 12-year-old Palestinian boy was killed by Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank on Monday, the Health Ministry said.

At least 12 people have been killed across the Gaza Strip as the Israeli bombardment continues on the first anniversary of the war, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa:

Five people were killed after Israeli forces bombed a gathering in Bir an-Naaja, an area west of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
Four people were killed in an Israeli attack on a house in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza.
One person was killed in a drone attack on Khirbet al-Adas area, north of Rafah in southern Gaza.
One person was killed in an attack on Sheikh Radwan Lake, north of Gaza City.
One person was killed after Israeli forces attacked a house in Zeitoun neighbourhood, southeast of Gaza City, medics from the Palestinian Red Crescent reported.

Several civilians were killed and others were injured on Monday evening after the occupation artillery shelled a group of citizens in Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics reported that the bodies of eight salin Palestinians were recovered after the occupation artillery shelled a group of citizens near Abu Qamar station in Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, in the Israeli occupied West Bank, a ministry statement identified the victim as Hatem Sami Ghaith, saying he was critically injured by Israeli fire in the Qalandia refugee camp north of Jerusalem and succumbed to his wounds.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said early Monday that six people were injured, including one critically, in an Israeli military raid in the camp.

Israeli forces searched several homes and detained 15 people during the raid amid clashes during which Israeli forces used live fire, rubber bullets and tear gas canisters, according to witnesses.

A Palestinian elder was beaten to death early Monday morning by Israeli forces after they stormed his home in the town of Dura in Hebron, in the southern West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement that “Ziad Abu Halil, 66, was martyred after Israeli forces assaulted him during a raid on his home in Dura, south of Hebron.”

The forces entered Abu Halil’s home and severely beat him until he lost consciousness, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported, adding that he was taken to Dura Hospital for treatment, but the medical team declared him dead upon arrival due to his injuries.

Abu Halil, a well-known community leader who had long opposed the Israeli occupation, had been injured by Israeli forces in several previous incidents.

Local residents are outraged by the news of his death, said the news agency.

In the West Bank, at least 744 Palestinians have since been killed, more than 6,200 injured and over 11,100 others detained in the occupied territory, according to Palestinian figures.

LEBANON

Ten firefighters were killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on Monday, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.

A ministry statement said the men lost their lives when an Israeli fighter jet hit a municipal building in the town of Baraachit.

The ministry called the attack a “war crime to be added to Israel’s criminal record against firefighters and ambulance workers in southern Lebanon.”

Israel has been conducting relentless airstrikes since Sept. 23 on what it calls Hezbollah targets across Lebanon, killing more than 1,200 and injuring over 3,400 others.

Two major hospitals in Beirut’s southern suburbs are unable to provide service after Israeli forces conducted overnight airstrikes that severely damaged the facilities, a Lebanese medical source said Monday.

The source told Anadolu on the condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to the media that Saint Therese Hospital and Al Rassoul Al Azam Hospital were both rendered inoperable due to the Israeli airstrikes.

Al Rassoul Al Azam is one of the largest hospitals in the Lebanese capital, the source added.

A medical source later said that the two hospitals had resumed operations hours after being rendered out of service.

The Israeli army ordered residents of 25 more towns in southern Lebanon to evacuate their areas on Monday amid air and ground attacks on the country.

The new list of towns posted by Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee on his X account include Srebbine, Marwahin, Chihine, Oum Touteh, Bustan, Zalloutiyeh, Yarine, Ad-Dahreyah, Matmoura, Jebbayn, Tayr Harfa, and Abou Chach.

Also targeted are the towns of Aalma El Chaeb, Naqoura, Ain Shama, Ras al-Badah, Majdal Zoun, Mansouri, Mazraat Bayut al-Siyad, Sammaaiyeh, Rachidiyeh, Bazouriye, Ain Baal, and Hanniyeh.

Residents were ordered to evacuate immediately and head north of Awali River, effectively relocating southern Lebanon’s population toward the northern areas.

The new orders take the number of areas ordered evacuated by Israel in southern Lebanon to over 100 in recent days.

Israel has been conducting relentless airstrikes since Sept. 23 on what it claims Hezbollah targets across Lebanon, killing more than 1,200 and injuring over 3,400 others.

In Israel, at least 1,139 people were killed in the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 and more than 200 people were taken captive.
